Another gorgeous new tune from Sam Scherdel, “Balloon” came out last month! He’s been making waves on the Northern music scene with his poetic songwriting, ability to convey a story in a unique manner – with influences from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and The Verve, he’s created a sound that is truly unique. Just from listening to the tracks, you can hear his passion for it – we’re huge fans of Sam’s, and this track only exemplifies his talent! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)
We’ve loved Dr Fabola‘s music for a good while now, having covered a bunch of his previous tunes and having him on a few gigs over the past few years – this brand new tune “One More Time” is a gorgeous ballad, it’s caught the delicate and intimate manner of his live performances beautifully, and really shows off his songwriting style so well. His calm and collected musical style is fully on show here, and you can really connect with his lyricism, the production is spot on, and it’s a super lovely listen. One of our very good friends here at the label, Tay Temple has released her brand new single “Still Here” – it’s a hard-hitting, direct banger that grips you in right from the start. We love this new almost-punky element that Tay’s been taking on, there’s so much attitude behind the track and her performance gives a real punch to the track. The ability of her band behind her only push her to new heights – you can hear the chemistry of them all throughout this track, with all the elements joining together perfectly to create a real anthem. Well worth a listen, and we can’t wait to hear even more from her! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)
Greater Manchester-based grunge outfit Mort Jardin have made their return with a brand new album “Delay Decay“! It sounds fantastic from the get-go, with gorgeous guitar tones throughout, a beautiful soundscape crafted on each track, and a symphony of vocals that really elevate the tracks. There’s beautiful guitar melodies throughout it all, especially in the breakdowns – creating a real eerie sense in the build-up back to the choruses. Well worth a listen for any fans of heavier music out there! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)
Jacob D. Edward is a songwriter from the Netherlands that we just had to include on this – his brand new release “Threshold” is chock-full of gorgeous tunes, a real joy to listen to for any fans of singer-songwriters or folkier acts. His storytelling throughout is exquisite, depicting his tales in such a personal and affectionate way – you can really tell he’s put a bunch of time into crafting these tracks. There’s gorgeous instrumentation surrounding him, all slotting in perfectly to compliment his songwriting ability. It’s well worth a listen, reminds us a lot of Conor Oberst & Bright Eyes! Indie-punks The Ruby Tuesdays dropped their latest EP – they’ve been making waves across Manchester over the past year or so and this EP is a bloody great show of why they’ve been doing so well. There’s a few singles on the EP that were released in the past, but we proper loved. The opener “Blacklight” is a HUGE anthemic tune, with a gorgeous guitar riff, massive sound behind it – a fantastic first track. This huge sound continues throughout the whole EP, it’s in-your-face unadulterated loud music that we just can’t get enough of. Incredible stuff from these guys, just so much energy throughout the whole EP – we love to see it! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)
After hearing Evie Moran‘s first releases over the past few years, we were in love with her delicate sound and intricate songwriting, a real talent to keep an eye out for. She’s returned with this brand new track “How Do You Like Me Now?” and it sounds absolutely gorgeous. It’s taken a big step into the electronic circuit, but she’s proven with this tune that her talents are bound by no genre, it sounds fantastic – there’s a real groove to the track whilst maintaining her folkier roots, and the vocal harmonies throughout really give the song the aethereal elements that were present in her earlier songs. The production is spot on, it really compliments her style so well and we love this! Well worth a listen! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP)
Liverpool-based songwriter Kieo has returned with his second single “Happy To Lose My Mind“! With his debut hitting over 10k streams, this track really shows off his talent and proves the reason why he’s done so well. His lyricism is gorgeous, his ability to paint a story with his words is parallel to none and it’s a gorgeous track laden with synths and soundscapes that really compliment his vocal and the main acoustic track. His almost drone-y melody line on his vocal flows across the track super well, and you can hear touches of his accent throughout which we absolutely love to see. Well worth checking out!
