Preston indie-rock outfit Tuesday Night Whites have just released their first single of the year “Red Tree“! following a strong run of previous singles, this song immediately sets the scene with an anthemic energy, a powerful rhythm section forming the foundation of the track, and impactful dynamics within to create a proper flow throughout. the lead and rhythm guitars balance in effortless unison expertly, and all commanded by a strong lead vocal – well worth a listen!
The Avelons have just put out their second single of the year, “Alice (On The Comeback)“! the North East indie rockers made a real mark with their previous track, and they’ve followed it up with yet another belter. with a huge lead melody opening the track, it falls into a melancholic feel within the verses, yet maintaining a steady pace to open up again expertly in the anthemic, singalong chorus – a fantastic tune and sets them as ones to watch for 2026!
we’ve covered Tim Gambles’ tunes a bunch in the past and we’re always in awe of his craft, the passion he puts into his music, and he’s just released a brand new single “Today“! opening up with an intimate, delicate piano melody that compliments his soft vocal delivery so well, the track flows superbly, building throughout the verses to an explosive final section that truly delivers that passion that he puts into his music. it’s another incredible track under his belt!
Manchester’s morning colour just put out their debut single “never coming back“! With shades of shoegaze, grunge, emo and post-punk, it’s a huge, driving tune that really ensures they are hitting the ground running with their tunes. it’s got huge drums that set the scene of the track, coupled with driving, gritty guitars, contrasted with a soft, ambient-esque vocal in the verses that open up to a full powerful chorus delivery that ensures a real dynamic within the track. we can’t wait to hear more!
we’ve known Nicky Phillips for a good while now, and always been in awe of her incredible wordcraft, and she’s put out the final single “Find Me” from her new EP that’s just come out! her songwriting ability is on full display in this track, feeling like a raw delivery of emotion and passion, set to a gorgeous piano melody, that’s complimented so well by the stringwork to create a lovely atmosphere for the single. a gorgeous listen!
another band that’s been on our radar for a good while now, VENUS GRRRLS have just dropped their latest single “Mother Knows” from their forthcoming EP! opening with a driving, viscous riff, the track has an incredible soundscape behind it, feeling gloomy and mysterious, yet opens up superbly into the anthemic chorus. powerful basslines and drums form a solid foundation for the track, and the flow of the dynamics throughout ensure that this single is one to put on repeat – we can’t wait to hear the full EP in October!
another staple of the Manchester scene, Marie Franc have just released their new tune “Vauxhall Casanova“! they’ve had a fantastic 2026 with a run of so many incredible tunes, and this one is no exception – it opens with a lovely guitar riff that sets the scene of the track immediately, backed by expert rhythm giving a real groove, which is then complimented expertly from atmospheric lead riffs and flowing, dreamy vocals – this is real proof of their musicianship and ability to craft a quality tune. definitely one to add to your playlists!
a real favourite of ours, MR. FISH have just put out their latest tune “Back Where You Belong“! we loved their Chippy Tea EP last year, full of proper bangers, and this song is no different – right from the get-go, it’s got a real groove behind it, with the rhythm section providing a rigid foundation and flow for the track, gorgeous lead melodies and pianowork, which give way for Matt to command the listeners’ attention with ease – it’s a proper singalong tune and definitely one we’re gonna be spinning on repeat.
it’s been another brilliant month of music, with so many amazing tunes – plus, loads that we didn’t cover!
