Just The Crust 27/04/26: Plasticine – Triple Calm โœจ

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Triple Calm” from Plasticine! โ˜€๏ธ

the Sheffield-based outfit blend influence from a variety of genres, from shoegaze to indie to alt-rock, to create a melodic-based sound that they can truly call their own; and they’ve been making a real name for themselves with the success of their previous two singles ๐Ÿ‘Š

this new single sounds mega, it’s got a gorgeous guitar riff that resonates throughout the song, backed with driving rhythm that forms a real solid foundation for the track, allowing for arpeggiated guitar melodies and the soft, flowing vocal to soar freely in the atmosphere of the song. it’s got more of a sing-along style with an anthemic chorus, and the texture of the track is gorgeous – a fantastic listen! ๐ŸŒ

you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and you can support the song directly by purchasing it on Bandcamp at https://plasticinesheffield.bandcamp.com/track/triple-calm ๐ŸŽง

Newcastle’s shoegaze icon Hannah Robinson returns with her brand new single “Ruining The Moment“, her first of the year! we’ve been big fans for a good few years now and her innate ability to write a track that’s anthemic, yet relays raw and honest emotion is second to none. with big guitar sounds, dreamy soundscapes and powerful vocals, it’s an incredible track and yet another superb song under her belt.

Liverpool songwriter Bunny Alex has just released her latest single “Iโ€™ll Be Alright” – we covered her previous single and are huge fans of her atmospheric dream-pop style. her raw and passionate lyricism is complimented by her ability to portray a conversationalist tone, setting her songwriting capabilities above the rest. the track has a real contrast to it, with a vulnerable and emotional lyrical tone, set to a dreamy, upbeat backdrop. it’s a gorgeous listen!

Manchester-based outfit Velez have just put out their debut single “Secrets“! we caught these live at the end of last year and we were blown away by their ability to captivate an audience with their musical quality. this track feels like a delicate conversation lyrically, and Cloe’s vocal flows effortlessly across the track, and there’s a luscious atmosphere behind it, with expert musicianship present throughout. the track has such a lovely groove behind it, and it’s definitely one to check out!

a familiar face for us, Rob Crampton has just put out his new EP “A Sweet Kind Of Sickness“! we’re huge fans of Rob’s songs, with expert lyricism that really paints a picture throughout each line, matched with delicate and lovely guitarwork that really compliments his vocal ability. this EP is real evidence of this, with four tracks that sound fantastic, and flow so well between one another to create a fantastic EP that will be a firm favourite for any fans of americana music.

Manchester indie-rockers Bayboards just put out their new single “Good For You“! we’ve covered their music a bunch in the past, and we love their driving, upbeat indie tunes – they’re always able to craft a singalong anthemic hit that will have any audience dancing around. this new single sounds mega, a tongue-in-cheek track with lovely guitar runs, luscious synths lacing the track and a proper driving groove to it. well worth checking out!

in the quest for his gig a day this year, Isaac Neilson has just released his new single “Falling Down“! we’re huge fans of his music, having reviewed it a bunch of times now, and his innate talent to create an anthemic tune is second to none. his songwriting style is quality, always so expertly complimented by the production on the track, and this tune’s got a fantastic flow and groove behind it that is only accentuated by his commanding and powerful vocal ability. another banger under his belt!

Warrington-based alt-rock outfit Punch-In have just put out their second single “This Is Not an Intervention“! this tune’s got a real drive behind it, blending a range of genres to create their own sound – and with honest and retrospective lyricism, it’s a quality track. there’s a real dynamic to the track with the downbeat vocal, yet driving and powerful instrumentation, a contrast that really sets the scene for this track until the final chorus where it opens up into a huge anthemic finale.

Manchester-based songwriter Mia Carmen has returned with her first single of 2026, “Crazy” – a real 80’s disco-inspired tune, with a gorgeous soundscape behind the track that sets a proper upbeat setting, with bouncing rhythm and luscious synths that really compliment Mia’s vocal, and shine a light on her songwriting ability. her direct and infectious lyricism is well-suited to the driving production of the track, and it sets for a proper singalong anthemic that’ll stay in your head for weeks!
