Manchester-based dream-pop outfit Dreaming of Citra have returned with their brand new single “BMW“!
a familiar face for us, we’ve covered a bunch of their tunes over the past few years, and we love their delicate balance of intricate, yet powerful melodies, hard-hitting and rooted rhythm that gives such an effortless feel to their music, and soaring, dreamy flows throughout each of the tracks that blend superbly together. coupled with such a strong lead vocal, their ability to create a tune that’s not only relatable, but also one to have a bit of a boogie to and a proper singalong.
over the past few months they’ve made their way down to the Isle of Wight Festival, they’re up in Stockton-On-Tees for The Gathering Sounds, had a bunch of radio play and features for the new single, and even announced a show at Gorilla on the 3rd of October, here in Manchester – well worth a trip down to!

we love this new track, it’s a got a real lovely atmosphere throughout, opening with a dreamy guitar riff that dances effortlessly over the rigidity of the bass and drums, forming a solid foundation within the track – and the vocal comes in to perfectly compliment the riff, with an almost conversationalist flow, delivering the story of the track with expert lyrical ability and quality musical flow. the chorus opens up into a proper anthemic feel, with an infectious melody, a real singalong tune that’s gonna be a real hit at their live shows!
with driving rhythm, gorgeous guitar melodies, proper atmospheric feel and quality lyricism, it’s yet another tune under their belt, and definitely one to check out to welcome in the autumn months!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “BLACKOUT” by Material Goods 💥
the DIY industrial outfit have been making a real name for themselves in the North West, blending a huge range of genres to make something proper special. they’ve been on a bunch of shows lately and they’ve got a EP tour planned for September too 👊
this single “BLACKOUT” is the second single from their upcoming EP, and it sounds huge – utilising textures, space and noise so effectively, they’re able to create a real sense of atmosphere through their instrumentation choice, and the dynamic behind the track results in exciting and fresh production that keeps the listener on their feet throughout the entire tune. blending mechanical noise, crushing riffs, and raw, honest lyricism, it’s a proper tune and definitely one to put on repeat! 🥁
