we’ve just made up a lil playlist of all of our 2021 Just The Crust features!
there’s way way too many for us to tag everyone but with 52 releases, including singles and albums, it’s an absolute brill insight into the talent on the scene! so many fantastic artists and tunes – we’re super proud to be able to have covered them all.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Insomnia” by thesafe.band
we’ve known about these guys for a while now, having heard a few demos and we love their indie-rock alternative vibe, with influences from alt rock and punk bands across the board! they’ve spent the last six months recording this and we can’t wait to hear the full thing.
since the end of the last lockdowns, they’ve been gigging across North Manchester and have been honing their craft – they’ve just recently done a gig over at Retro – 78 Sackville Street as well here in Manchester. well worth checking out next time they’re about!
the new single “Insomnia” drops on New Year’s Eve (this Friday!) so make sure you head on over to their Facebook page and give em a like to be the first to hear it! sounds great so far and we’re looking to catching it in full!
we’re at 555 songs on the playlist now, and over thirty-two and a half hours of top local tunes up North head on over to our Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5FnabVHuYeT9Yp2s7GjeKY to find the playlist in full – drop it a like to keep up to date!

with music from our very own Olivia Browse Anyone’s Ghost and michael webster we’ve been busy alongside all of the live gigs we’ve been doing – super productive time for us and we are well happy with how well they’ve all done. we’ve got nearly 30k streams on all of these over on Spotify and a bunch of purchases on Bandcamp
head on over to our Bandcamp at https://breadrecords.bandcamp.com/ to find them all in full – we’ve got a bunch of merch available as well, go and check em out
our very own Olivia Browse‘s brand new single “Lonelier Than You” has been out for nearly four weeks now
we’ve already hit over a thousand and a half streams on Spotify, with coverage from BBC Radio Essex and plenty of lovely reviews and features it’s great to see it doing so well big shout to everyone who has listened!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Superfriends “How To Live Life”!
the Brighton-based trio have been recording brand new music over the past year or so and this is their first release, put out just yesterday! we love the 90’s alternative influence in there, feeling like a mixture of Built To Spill with modern-day Courtney Barnett.
combining contemplative lyricism of future hopes, energetic rhythms, and restless breakdowns – they’ve really pushed the boat out for their first single, setting the scene for more releases on the horizon.. we can’t wait to hear more from them! great stuff and we can see them going far h
we’ve also updated our lovely Local Loaf playlist today
with some amazing new additions from the likes of James Holt Lucy Wentworth JCKJane Lacey and Gen and the Degenerates it’s a boss one this week, well worth checking out all these unreal artists up North such a class collection of amazing local music in our playlist!
ey up we’re so proud of how much music we’ve covered through all the features we do
there’s literally so so much from the local scene here, so many incredible releases from artists here in Manchester, up North and even beyond been doing this for over a year and a half properly now and it’s a real great collection.
