our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the fantastic new single from The Seminals “All On You“! 🥖
following on from the release of their debut single “Peasants With Money“, they’ve come out with a no-nonsense track here that really puts them on the map as ones to watch for the future. 🤘 we love their indie-rock sound that takes from so many influences and genres, both of the singles so far have been boss!
exploding into the track with a huge guitar riff, it sounds huge from the get-go; and we love the massive energy of the track, so upbeat. the main vocal sounds amazing too, with that scouse touch in there to really show their roots! ⚡️ the chorus almost gives a massive contrast with the verse, having such a different feel to it and then suddenly pulling out a rude guitar solo before dropping back into the next verse. 😎
the energy of the tune only continues throughout, and the outro guitar solo has so much to it, really giving it a fresh breath of air – we can’t even imagine how mental this tune would sound live. might have to get them on for a gig at some point! 👊 keep your eyes out for these guys, two formidable tracks already and we can only imagine even more on the way!
it’s an honour to host american poetry club as part of their UK tour – they’ve come all the way from the states and it’s gonna be boss, their music is insane and it looks to be a great one! with support from Radiant Heart and RN Taylor too!
our feature for Just The Crust today is the brand new single from Wednesday’s Child “I Want You To Want Me”!
we’ve covering the London-based outfit’s releases in the past, having put out a fantastic self-titled EP last year and we love their sound, encompassing a variety of genres to really put a stamp on their own sound. we especially loved the tune “Begin Again”, so well produced and put together with so many sounds in there, gorgeous harmonies and the such.
this new single only furthers upon their sound, showing such progress in their creativity – starting out with such a smooth and calming melody line on the guitar, and flowing seamlessly through to the verse. we love the lyricism here, conjuring up such vivid imagery and being so honest. suddenly it blows up into a chaotic canvas of the chorus; a complete contrast to the calm nature of the verse. so well done, it’s a brilliant change-up and really commands the attention of the listener! the build of the bridge too also, it’s so energetic and culminates in such a huge outro.
it’s a brilliant tune and another one in their amazing discography – you can find the full thing over on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/artist/2fkvo28Rkha3Q98wVxneDq and it’s well worth checking out their full discography!

Sheffield’s very own ROSH has put out another incredible single, “Mending Season”! We’ve featured their music in the past on our The Wrap feature and we were so blown away by this one, we decided to do a lil one-off review for them.
Following the release of their previous single “This Is What You Asked For“, a politically-charged delicate and intricate tune pertaining to the fight for inequality and wealth distribution, they’ve returned with another fantastic single here which only shows how much of a force they’re to be reckoned with. 🤘 maintaining their signature sound, mixing elements of jazz and rock into an acoustic folk setting which creates a truly unique sound that is not only easy to listen to, but thought-provoking and melodic through the whole journey of the songs.
“Mending Season” starts with a soft melody played on ROSH’s acoustic guitar, and as it sweeps into the verse the drums calmly crash in and ROSH’s vocal falsetto sears above the track, almost like a wave flowing into the shore. You can really feel the emotion and intricacy put into this track, each element seems like it’s been placed with such care to ensure the atmosphere of the track is just right. 🌊 throughout the track, it builds and builds – yet so calmly, with violins and strings emerging to really pinpoint and solidify the melody of the song – as it travels to the final chorus, it’s almost a contained chaos, with so much going on in the soundscape of the track, but with every instrument working perfectly in tangent with one another to create something that is truly beautiful.
The lyrics are written about the pandemic – the sense of waiting, the uncertainty of the times in which we all experienced – the anxiety and stress that came with waiting upon every single announcement that was put out by the government and the discomfort of a complete shift in the balance of everyday life. ROSH says on Bandcamp that “It’s about the collective wound we have all suffered during this pandemic, where some have suffered more than most, but where we all have lost something. I was thinking of all the people I hadn’t seen in months who were hurting, and considering what it would take for all of us to collectively heal from the experience.” With lyrics such as “Cast as mutes in another fight, the subtle rite, even numbers can’t sanctify“; you can really see the quality of songwriting shining through here, not only are the lyrics a beautiful interpretation of such a strange time, but to still maintain vocal melodies of this calibre really puts ROSH as one to keep an eye out for here. 😊
Not only this, but the b-side to the single, a song called “Fated“; is truly a gorgeous tune in its own right! Continuing almost seamlessly from the a-side, it retains both the intimacy, delicate melodies and soft ambience of the previous track. We absolutely adore the songwriting here, it’s a discussion upon the fate of civilization – so eloquently put, and as we said before, melodically superb. There’s always something for us about songs that take deep questions and philosophical ideas and give the writer’s thoughts upon them. Well worth listening to both of these tracks! 🙌
you can find the full single on all streaming platforms (Spotify / Apple Music) and on Bandcamp as pay as you feel, also there’s a full music video for it over on YouTube. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for this artist; with an album on the way, we’re sure they’re destined for great things. 🍞
we’ve known Nat for a long time now, and he’s got such a fantastic discography to his name – so many great singles that sound absolutely fantastic. a proper talent here in Manchester and one to definitely watch out for, especially for his live sets!
opening with a real groove to the track, the drums and bass in perfect sync with one another – it starts with Nat on an almost deadpan vocal, suddenly opening up to a more melodic vocal line and building and building with each instrument until the chorus which is just explosive.
his lyricism has only got better and better with each track, this song takes a real inspection upon the state of the world and the influence that different figures have and how they all seem to contradict each other, yet don’t… we love seeing the stories behind songs and their meanings and there’s so much to unpack in this one, we’ll let you figure it all out for yourself though
