SO made up to be able to announce our first gig back at The Thirsty Scholar. you guys made our mid-lockdown ones last year so great, having to turn people away cause we ran out of seating space, and just a blooming lovely vibe in that whole chaotic year!

on the Saturday 7th August we’ll be returning with a stellar lineup, including Minervadaisy (with full band!) Scatterchild Harrison Rimmer Dr Fabola and our very own Olivia Browse and michael webster! this is shaping up to be one of our best gigs yet. can’t wait for it!

it’s going to be our final virtual open mic over in Bread Social this coming Thursday! as always, hosted by our very own michael webster! don’t worry, it’s still Turtleneck Thursday…

we’ve had a lovely time over the past year hosting these, they’re been such a lush way for musicians to keep performing through lockdown but alas it must come to an end as next Tuesday (A WEEK TODAY!) we have our first open mic at the Grafton Arms

we can’t wait for this one, it’ll be weekly Tuesdays – find out more at Open Mic at The Grafton Arms!! there’ll be plenty of walk in slots, cheap and quality pints, food available to order and it’s all coming together nicely!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new ALBUM from Cold Water Swimmers “Holiday at the Secret Lake”!!

with an unmistakably Northern sound, the Manchester outfit have released some fantastic singles over the past year or two and are back now with their first full-length release! “Holiday at the Secret Lake” is chock-full of lovely tunes, reminiscent of 90s alternative indie mixed in with some lovely songwriting, and punkier elements which really give Cold Water Swimmers a unique yet familiar sound – definitely ones to watch here!!

must listens: Love is Insane / I’ll Be Your Witness – real brit-pop vibes with some top choruses you’ll be singing on your way home from the pub. the whole album as a whole is fantastic though – definitely worth listening to on this overcast Manchester Monday

Knead To Know: Farrow and Friends Promotions 🌞

Our feature for today’s Knead To Know is the fantastic Farrow & Friends Promotions 🤘 they host various open mics across Manchester and they’re a real cornerstone of the scene!

During the pandemic last year they hosted open mics over at Lions Den Bar Deansgate each Friday and provided a fantastic covid-secure environment for performers to keep going, with busy nights each week with some of Manchester’s finest artists and really kept the scene alive during a tough time! 🌞

They now host two open mics – the Friday one down at Lions Den as previously mentioned and also one on a Sunday at Royal Oak, Chorlton-Cum-Hardy 🤘 they have featured artists for each one, if you want to perform just drop them a message! 😊

each Tuesday we’ll be down with our very own michael webster hosting – we’re doing around 7-11pm, walk in slots available so just turn up and play, or alternatively drop michael a message to reserve a slot!

this is gonna start up on the Tuesday 13th July – we’re sure that it’s going to be fantastic. make sure you get down! even more on the way as well
