this Sunday we’re back on down at The Thirsty Scholar for our final Cream of the Crop of 2024, with music from the amazing talents of Charley Westing, Rory G King, Summerhouse + Alisha Peters – a lovely one in store, 1pm start!
on the Thursday 19th we return to the Eagle Inn for our next of our newest nights, “The Monthly Spread“, and we’ve got an incredible lineup in store with Walter Kocays, Scatterchild, Joe Kutryk, michael webster and more tba! 
we’ve got a fundraiser for British Heart Foundation in collaboration with Rob at the Eagle Inn on the Saturday 21st, it’s gonna be a super one with a whole bunch of incredible acts – 5pm start or so! more info to come 
and finally on the Saturday 28th of December, we’ve got a lovely end of year The Slice at the Grafton Arms – finalising some lineups for this but it’s bound to be a special way to end the year – all in aid of The Christie Charity 
plus, with a bunch of open mics run by our michael webster at Flour & Flagon, Grafton Arms, The Dockyard and Rewind NQ – there’s plenty to get involved with, just get in touch for a slot!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Don’t You Mind” by Naomi Campbell 🌙
after a fantastic run of singles in 2024, and having performed a bunch of shows across the North, she’s brought out this new track and it sounds unreal 🙌
it’s a lovely, jazzy tune that’s got a real groove right from the get-go, with a gorgeous piano melody forming the basis of the track, drums, bass and guitar joining the mix to create a real luscious space for Naomi’s vocals – it really shines a light on her incredible vocal ability, her range and dynamic in full display here, and it sounds incredible, a fantastic listen – her lyricism being raw, personal and honest, and exceptionally descriptive, proving her talent to be able to paint a picture with her words 🍷

what a night for our “Beneath The Rails” show last Saturday at Zombie Shack
a huge thank you to everyone who came down, a lovely turnout and each of the bands were incredible, smashed their sets – big love to Mothbreather Llama Llama Ladybarn Olivia Browse and Gone Tomorrow for performing, brilliant to see 
hopefully even more of this to come in the new year. can’t wait for more mega lineups and incredible shows with the fantastic Empire Events
