our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from William Cawley, “Regine/Or?” โ๏ธ
we covered his previous release towards the end of last year, and his upbeat indie-rock styling is great, reminiscent of surf rock and 60’s sounds; chock full of jangly guitars, vocal harmonies and singalong vibes. ๐
this new single is more of a downbeat, moody and atmospheric vibe – especially with the guitar tone, a more post-punk 80’s feel, yet still with the energetic drumbeat that we became accustomed to in his previous work. it’s a more direct track lyrically, a more ambient feel yet still full on and loud ๐ the breakdown at the end is like a lovely contrast to the rest of the track, and it jumps straight back into a final run of the chorus expertly.
tonight we’re back on down at the Grafton Arms for our headline show with the incredible Eyam

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new EP from VALA “Fishing God“! ๐
we’ve covered VALA a bunch over the past year or so and we’re always blown away by the quality of their tunes, so many belters and they’ve got a super unique sound; and when we caught them live at The Deaf Institute they were incredible, a brilliant night. ๐
this new EP only continues this trend, with a couple of tracks that we’re already huge fans of, and a few new ones thrown in there too! their lo-fi indie pop sound is on full force here, with lush guitar tones throughout and feelgood upbeat vibes – set to a lovely laidback atmosphere. the opener “Change Your Mind” is one of the new ones, and it sounds incredible, a real show of their unique style. amazing! well worth checking out, a bunch of great tunes! ๐ถ
