we had a super one on Sunday for our final Cream of the Crop show of 2024! ๐พ
a huge thank you to everyone who came down to catch all the action, to our amazing acts Charley Westing, Rory G King, Summerhouse and Alisha Peters, who were all fantastic – and big love to the Grafton Arms for lending us a stage for the afternoon! ๐ถ
we can’t wait for even more – lots coming up and to be announced this week! keep your eyes peeled for more info ๐
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Marc Todd “Hey, What Do You Want To Say?” ๐
this is his eighth release, after a string of fantastic singles over 2024, and performing across the North West regularly, including shows at HMV Manchester and Liverpool, he’s making his mark on the North West scene ๐ฌ
this new single sounds lovely, a real late 90’s indie feel to it, a proper Manchester element behind it yet feeling fresh and new – it’s got a proper singalong chorus that is sure to get any listener hooked. the track has a real groove behind it, with drums and bass providing a lovely foundation and setting for the acoustic guitar to provide the drive of the track, and plenty of space for Marc’s vocal to take charge above and command the listener’s attention! it’s well worth a listen ๐ง
we’ve got a fundraiser for British Heart Foundation in collaboration with Rob at the Eagle Inn on the Saturday 21st, it’s gonna be a super one with a whole bunch of incredible acts – 5pm start or so! more info to come
and finally on the Saturday 28th of December, we’ve got a lovely end of year The Slice at the Grafton Arms – finalising some lineups for this but it’s bound to be a special way to end the year – all in aid of The Christie Charity
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Don’t You Mind” by Naomi Campbell ๐
after a fantastic run of singles in 2024, and having performed a bunch of shows across the North, she’s brought out this new track and it sounds unreal ๐
it’s a lovely, jazzy tune that’s got a real groove right from the get-go, with a gorgeous piano melody forming the basis of the track, drums, bass and guitar joining the mix to create a real luscious space for Naomi’s vocals – it really shines a light on her incredible vocal ability, her range and dynamic in full display here, and it sounds incredible, a fantastic listen – her lyricism being raw, personal and honest, and exceptionally descriptive, proving her talent to be able to paint a picture with her words ๐ท
