a little update about Saturday’s gig over at The Thirsty Scholar – we’ve now got Tom Bellerby filling in for Gavin as he can’t make it!

it’s gonna be a real lovely one, so many talented artists performing for us, with Tom, Paul Askew Paul Shepherd and Paul Sadler Music! can’t wait for it!

come on down from 1:30pm to catch all the action – we’ll be running through til 5pm and we’re sure it’s gonna be a super lovely afternoon of live music! vegan/veggie food served all day, great drinks on offer and free live music what more could you want?

oh man we had an incredible one on Saturday over at the Grafton Arms for our monthly gig!

big love to Hayden J Barlow for headlining, his set was phenomenal – what a talent! his latest EP “rudimentary” is well worth a listen, he’s one of the finest musicians we know and it was a pleasure to host him! a big thank you to the amazing talents of Tom J Johnson Music Thomas Rennie and Ayanam Udoma Music for supporting too, what a night!

definitely worth checking out all of these talented chaps out. we’ll be back at the end of April with yet another gig – keep your eyes peeled for all the details!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Craig Lee and the Humblebees “He Can’t Help Looking At The Time”!

we’ve had Craig on our radar for a while now, he’s got some solid singles under his belt with a proper unique style mixing indie rock and 50/60’s rock and roll to really bring out a nostalgic and upbeat sound to his music!

this new single sounds fantastic, with lovely lyricism throughout, his vocal sounds great and effortlessly glides across the track and the hook is super catchy! a real top tune from these guys. it has a proper summery feel with its upbeat energy, all of the instruments compliment each other so well and it’s just a really well-crafted tune! definitely one to keep an eye out for.

we’ve had a whirlwind since then, putting out FOUR releases with her which have all been super incredible and we’ve had so many amazing responses to these, what a talent ranging from britpop to indie to pop, we’re so proud to have all these singles on our roster and made so many fantastic memories along the way

our very own michael webster‘s debut EP “paper dreams” turns three years old today

it feels like an absolute lifetime since we put this out – a year before the pandemic and so so much has happened since then! 15 releases and countless gigs and so many more artists. the start of an era, eh? this is a collection of some of michael’s earlier work, seven songs with tunes like “firewall” and “oceania rendevous” which we reckon you’ll recognise from any gigs!

Just The Crust 21/03/22: The Sewer Cats – Answer The Question 👊

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from one of our favourites on the scene, The Sewer Cats with “Answer The Question”!

ever since we caught them live back in 2019 before the pandemic, and heard their debut EP “Zelda”, we’ve been massive fans of their ferocious energy, driving guitar riffs and no-nonsense lyrics they’re a force to be reckoned with live, one of the loudest bands we’ve heard and they’re only a two-piece! absolutely fantastic to see.

this latest single sees them continuing in this fashion, with luscious feedback and distortion everywhere, guitar riffs that really push the track forward and some of the angriest vocals that we’ve heard Cass do yet! really pouring the anger into this, it’s a real testament to the underground punk scene and a real declaration towards the actions of the government over the past few years. we absolutely love the breakdown too, the riffs and melodies accompany the drums and lovely fills so well and it’s definitely one to check out for anyone who loves a good bit of punk/riot grrrl tunes.
