this is their debut offering, it’s a fantastic tune, sounding superb – they’ve had a bunch of shows up in the North East and this tune proper shows off their talent. it’s a lovely indie-rock banger, with intricate and raw lyricism, there’s an incredible flow to the track, with a luscious long extended intro, that drops into the main chorus expertly, and then only becomes bigger and bigger throughout the song, a real lovely progression within it ๐
with the drums and bass providing a gorgeous backdrop, and the guitar laying down a luscious melody, lead riffs circling the soundscape, there’s plenty of space for the vocal to take charge and ensure the listener’s attention – a fantastic debut from the band! ๐ค
there’s only two weeks til the debut single “Jenny” from Eyam comes out!

the Scottish songwriter has had a prolific year, releasing two strong singles here and performing across various countries – and this new song sounds absolutely gorgeous! ๐
the track opens up with a luscious droney atmosphere, painting a perfect backdrop for his vocal to take centre stage, and his husky yet soft voice ensures the listener is hanging onto every word. Kilpatrick’s lyrical capability is on full display here, truly weaving a tale with image-inducing wordcraft, down to earth and headstrong writing – and the vocal harmonies, the pianowork and acoustic guitar all working in unison to truly create something that’s a joy to listen to. ๐

Manchester punk powerhouse Getner returned with their latest single “Meadows of Adelaide“! Their third offering, this track has an unreal groove behind it, such ferocity and energy throughout – a true testament to their excellent live performances, proving them as ones to watch for next year. A must listen for any fans of alternative music!
Dreaming of Citra released their second single of 2024, “Bitter“! A real upbeat, feel-good summery anthem, chock-full of lovely guitar melodies, energetic rhythm and drive behind it, and gorgeous vocal tones that really set them as a lovely indie-pop outfit to keep an eye on next year!
Liverpool’s atmospheric folk songstress Dorothy Bird just put out her new single “Meteorites“! A gorgeous soundscape lacing the track throughout, giving plenty of space for her commanding yet delicate vocal to take centre stage, ensuring the attention of any listener – it’s such a well-crafted track with so much attention to detail.
we’re huge fans of Ladybarn, having had them perform for us a bunch now, and their live sets are truly mesmerising – this new EP “Intruder” perfectly encapsulates their live sound. with a gorgeous use of dynamic and contrast, ranging from delicate and intricate to driving, distorted and ferocious – a must see band here in Manchester.
a massive year for Toenails, having released a total of seven tracks – November’s single “Soothsayer” is a gorgeous track, with his lyrical capability on full display, his talent to be able to portray emotion effortlessly, tell a story with every word – the dynamic of the first verses, to the full band coming in towards the choruses, it’s a real testament to his songwriting ability.
we had Remote perform for us back in November, and we were blown away by their stage presence, expertly-constructed tracks, and this EP “I Need More Time” only proves their talent. their ability to create catchy, yet intricate and delicately woven tracks is second to none – they’ve found a gorgeous niche of indie/folk/pop and are excelling within it!
Manchester’s indie-pop songwriter Beth McKenzie has just put out her latest EP “Does This Make Me A Bitter Woman?” – right from the get-go, it sounds huge, with unapologetic, tongue-in-cheek, and imaginative lyricism, massive production on each of the tracks, catchy and upbeat melodies throughout; she’s able to effortlessly blend modernity with 2000’s britpop/indie anthem, and this EP is sure to set 2025 as an incredible year for her.
we’ve been massive fans of Valentyne for a good while now, having caught them live a bunch and covering their previous singles – this new track “Hate Me” is a perfect balance of their 90’s alternative and indie-pop influences, creating a modern and unique sound that really sets them apart; with an ability to write anthemic, yet intricate songs, and a real sense of something to say – it’s carved a unique identity for the band, and we can’t wait to hear even more!

this new single sounds lovely, it’s got a fantastic surf-rock edge to it, a lovely jazzy guitar melody painting a luscious backdrop to the track, gorgeous lead riffs in the foreground and giving plenty of room for his vocal to take command of the listener’s attention – it’s got a fantastic groove behind it with the bass and drums working overtime to really put this track as one that sticks in your head. ๐ค
