the Manchester-based songwriter has been performing across the city for a good while now, making a mark with his delicate, intricately-woven songs, with expert storytelling present throughout each of his tracks 🌙

this new single sounds mega, and is true evidence of his talent – his lyricism is class in this track, really painting a story with his words, and the song has a quiet, yet fierce energy behind it; it’s got a real heartfelt and personal feel to it, the build of the structure works excellently, opening up throughout the flow of the song, to a lovely full band sound – it’s a fantastic tune and what a debut! 🤝

a lovely attentive audience, great to see and a huge thank you to everyone who made it down – plus, unreal performances from all of our acts Giovanni’s Room, Valentyne, Olivia Browse, Cloe Velez, The Cosmonaut Cassettes and michael webster – brilliant to see such high levels of quality on the stage 🙌

already at 3,300 streams on Spotify alone, it’s fantastic to see such support for the track and so well-deserved for Eyam, such a talented songwriter, musician and creative. we had a lot of fun working on this track and can’t wait to see what the future holds! 🍞

tomorrow evening we’re down at the Eagle Inn for our fifth issue of “The Monthly Spread“, and a fantastic lineup in store with Valentyne Olivia Browse Cloe Velez The Cosmonaut Cassettes and michael webster – 7pm start, only a fiver in! 🗞️

then we’re back at the Eagle Inn again on the Thursday 20th of February, for our second “BAKED” band night – with the incredible talents of BARDS Moss Valley Novacane and Old Sun, New Moon – we’ll be starting up at 7pm and it’s shaping up to be a belter 🥪

plus, with all of our open mic nights at Rewind NQ Flour & Flagon Grafton Arms Peaky Blinders Manchester and The Dockyard – there’s plenty to get involved with, just get in touch with our michael webster for slots 🎤

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Toenails – an acoustic version of “The Party“! 🎉

we’ve been huge fans of him for a good while now, having covered his music a bunch on our reviews, having had him play a load of gigs for us; safe to say we’re real fans of his tunes. 🙌

the original version of this track was sublime, and this new acoustic variant sounds incredible! the intimate nature of it really does justice to his lyrical capabilities, and creates a gorgeous atmosphere within the track. it feels like a conversation, a heartfelt chat with Toenails – with a lovely guitar melody setting the backdrop, and his delicate delivery of the lyrics really setting the mood. a fantastic listen, as we’ve come to expect with all of his tracks 🤝
