our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Candlelight” from dulakes! ![]()
this is their fourth single of the year, and the Leeds-based alternative quartet have been making a real name for themselves in 2026, performing all across the North – we’ve covered their music a bunch, and we’re huge fans of their music, blending together a range of genres to really create something unique to themselves ![]()
this new tune sounds fantastic, opening with a moody guitar melody that really sets a dark, intricate atmosphere, and as the tune builds and builds through the verse, it emits a real sense of urgency within the soundscape which is expertly, explosively let out in a huge chorus. they’ve got gorgeous guitar tones throughout, with lead and rhythm working in perfect unison to give ample space for the main vocal to take command, ensuring control of the chaotic rhythm, bass and drums that work effortlessly to create not only a musically adept but ever-interesting and fresh feel to the single. another incredible release under their belts! ![]()

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Triple Calm” from Plasticine! ☀️
the Sheffield-based outfit blend influence from a variety of genres, from shoegaze to indie to alt-rock, to create a melodic-based sound that they can truly call their own; and they’ve been making a real name for themselves with the success of their previous two singles 👊
this new single sounds mega, it’s got a gorgeous guitar riff that resonates throughout the song, backed with driving rhythm that forms a real solid foundation for the track, allowing for arpeggiated guitar melodies and the soft, flowing vocal to soar freely in the atmosphere of the song. it’s got more of a sing-along style with an anthemic chorus, and the texture of the track is gorgeous – a fantastic listen! 🌠

over the past few months, they’ve been making waves on the Manchester music scene, having performed a load across the city, and releasing a run of fantastic singles prior to the release of this EP 🎶
the EP sounds fantastic, with a real mesh of influences in there, ranging from shoegaze to grunge to alternative rock – each of the tunes are great and there’s plenty of singalong choruses, anthemic sounds and luscious guitar riffs throughout, backed with a driving and tight rhythm section that create the perfect foundation for each of the tracks. there’s a real attitude and feeling to each of the tunes, each with their own identity yet maintaining a real connection throughout the full EP. it’s a great listen 🤝

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new debut single “Beyond” from Manchester grunge outfit Moss Valley 👊
we had them perform for us back in June and we were blown away by their set, so many fantastic tunes, such a great feel to their music and lovely chemistry between the members 🎶
this new single is an amazing debut offering from them, an explosive track right from the get-go, with a lovely grungey atmosphere present – so many different influences present and interacting in a real unique fashion. it drops away for the verse, a gorgeous space opening up for lead singer Zara’s vocal to soar over the backdrop, with introspective and intricate lyricism within each line. it’s a fantastic listen, and the dynamic throughout the track is second to none; the walls of sound and groove really ensuring that the track is worth putting on repeat. 🤘

our third act performing tomorrow at Band on the Wall is the one and only Anyone’s Ghost 💫
First appearing on the Manchester music scene in 2019, Anyone’s Ghost makes a large impact with a delicate sound, her solemn songs touching on themes of death, romance, mystery and murder. The solo project of local songwriter Wanda Roslyn, Anyone’s Ghost was born from the influence of dark folk and indie rock, encompassed in poetic lyricism and an affection for literature. Usually wielding an acoustic guitar and a multitude of effects pedals, Wanda is able to capture attention from the get-go with haunting vocals, melodic guitar work and a soundscape formed with intensity and emotion. 🌛
