we’re absolutely MADE UP to be able to feature this on today’s Just The Crust! 🥰 one of our favourite musicians and all around amazing guy Harrison Rimmer is here with a brand new single “The Travelist”! ☀️

Harrison has been one of our biggest supporters for a long time and played many of our virtual open mics every single week, and we’re absolutely buzzing to actually be able to show you an exclusive sneak peek at this lovely music video he’s made up! 🤘

“The Travelist” sounds absolutely huge, with the punk rock overtones we’re so used to him doing and fantastic songwriting – Harrison’s vocals in this are out of this world as well. it’s a real class tune about his need to get out there and do it 🌮 something we can completely relate to!

The Wrap: August 2021 🌮

we’ve got our August edition of The Wrap for you! 🤘 there’s been some absolutely fantastic tunes out over the past month and we’re stoked to be able to bring you some of our favourites! it’s so great to see everyone making moves – gigs, music and so much going on! check out our lil in-depth reviews below ☀️


Manchester-based alt-rockers We The North are back with their brand new single “Where is your God?” 🤘 Hard hitting riffs, huge drums, and an attitude to match, this is definitely one to blast out before a night out. Class stuff! [SPOTIFY]


Yorkshire rockers Blue Orchid Reaction are back with another banger – we’ve featured them before and love the energy within their music. “Sunset Claims” is another top single from them – with 70’s influence, lush guitar tones and some lovely songwriting, definitely worth checking out! [SPOTIFY]


New to the Manchester scene, Green Wire are definitely a band to keep your eyes on! With a first release like this, they’re sure to go places. Really lush vocals and band sounding proper tight, this is one for all the indie rock lovers out there. [SPOTIFY]


We know we’ve featured Szou before with this track, but this music video is bloody CLASS. A real homage to Manchester, and an absolutely fantastic tune. One to blast out before you go out – pop goodness, and the tune is produced so well. What a talent! Big shout to

Singer-songwriter Holly Jenkinson is back with another absolutely lovely tune, “I Told You So”! With such warm guitar tones here, brilliant lyricism, and a fantastic vocal, absolutely unreal stuff. Definitely one to keep an eye on! Ps.. that drop into the band is absolutely beautiful. [SPOTIFY]


Absolutely beautiful chorusy guitar here from Ophelia for their debut single “Man on Mountain”. A real lush soundscape throughout the track, an absolutely top chorus – this tune ticks all the boxes for us. That distorted guitar riff too! Wow. Definitely ones to watch here! [SPOTIFY]


Manchester-based punks The Battery Farm are back with yet another massive tune “Roy Keane Isn’t Real”! Proper heavy and driving stuff from these guys, real punk ambassadors of the scene. Well class and so noisy! The video is proper great too, tongue in cheek laughs throughout, well worth a watch! [SPOTIFY / YOUTUBE]


Manchester indie rockers Not Ned are back with their new EP “Good Times”! Well worth a listen, you can tell these guys are jamming and having a laugh – that riff is proper lush and the band sounds proper tight. Lovely alt rock vibe to this – just great vibes all around here! [SPOTIFY / YOUTUBE]

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Millie Milner Music “It’ll Be Alright”! ☀️

the fourth single from the Manchester-based songwriter, the single came out today! it’s a lovely reflective ballad about supporting a loved one throughout the trials and tribulations of the world out there 🥰 hence the title!

the song is truly authentic and really gives you an insight into Millie’s world – each component of the track works so well, ranging from the piano melody to the guitar riffs throughout, and then Millie’s vocal is simply superb on this, with a lovely warm and inviting tone that is proper lush. ✨

taken from the new album “Positive Songs”, this song is a lovely folky rock ballad that focuses on the crazy life of shift workers, especially throughout the pandemic – it’s a lovely tribute to those in society who are often overlooked! really great sentiment of the song. 🥰

with a mellow soundscape, relaxed instrumentation and fantastic vocals from Lomax, it really sets the scene of his music and gives you a real insight into his musical ability. 😊 sounding great with his band!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Elizabeth Owens, “Receiver”! ✊

blending atmospheric sounds, with lovely synths, and vocal stylings similar to that of Kate Bush, Caroline Polachek, Eli has really created a truly unique sound for themselves – we absolutely love what they are doing and all of their songs are simply beautiful! 😊 the production work on this song is sublime and really entrances the listener in. super great!

this song is part of their up-coming album, “Knock Knock”, an album which is “told in three acts, the record explores themes of sobriety, ego deconstruction, and spiritual materialism” – how insane does this sound? we can not WAIT to hear it. 🤘

JTC 26/07/21: The Rotanas – Get The Call 🤘

based down in Cardiff, The Rotanas are an energetic britpop band who have been on the rise for a few years now – they’ve got a great discography now and have been headlining stages and even did a headline tour back in 2019 🤘

when we heard this new single we defo knew we wanted to feature it – with a real 90’s atmosphere to it, it fills you with a proper sense of nostalgia for those older times 😊 we love the guitar riffs throughout, you can tell that these guys are gonna be huge! ✊

Just The Crust 19/07/21: Scatterchild – No Sense To End ☀️

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the new single from Scatterchild “No Sense To End”! 😊

taking a more laid-back approach compared to previous singles, Scatterchild have created a lovely relaxing atmosphere in which Jay’s vocal sits perfectly and really portrays the image of what he’s trying to say. building throughout the track, the instrumentation is really balanced well, and really creates a sound that you can get lost in. ☀️ definitely one for those rainy Manchester evenings with a glass of wine!

fantastic stuff from Scatterchild – showing they are proficient across a variety of genres and really puts across their magnificent songwriting and performance abilities. lovely stuff! 😎 we can’t wait for the Saturday 7th August when they’re playing for us at The Thirsty Scholar for Cream of the Crop: THE RETURN!🤘

Minerva is a Manchester-based songwriter and pianist who we’ve had play for us plenty of times now and she always blows us away with her heart-warming vocals, intricate piano melodies and amazing talent! 🤘 she’s even playing our first event back Cream of the Crop: THE RETURN! on the Sat 7th August which will be top!

“Euphoria” follows on from Minerva’s last single and only proves her worth and talent as an artist even more ☀️ it’s an uplifting ballad accompanied by beautiful piano lines and beautiful vocals – a lovely romantic tune that is perfect for a rainy day like today!
