our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new album from Anne-Marie Sanderson “Old Light”
over the past few years, she’s been performing across the North, at venues ranging from up in Cumbria to down in Sheffield, and this is her first full length release in six years – an album created with inspiration from genres such as folk, pop and jazz
the album is a collection of 10 tracks, all with gentle and intricate composition, smooth vocal melodies and heartfelt lyricism – a delicately put-together album that has the markings of excellence present throughout the entire listen. the flow of the tracklist is superb, it’s a calming listen that ebbs and flows so well from song to song, and it maintains an overall sense of serenity and grace with every line
we loved the previous two singles, such a delicate and intricate feel to them, with a real sense of authenticity and staying true to the feel of the songs – after making their mark on the Manchester scene over the past year or so, they’re back with a brand new track! โจ
this new tune “Forget Me” takes on a newer, more full band sound compared to the previous songs – and we love it! the band work in perfect unison to compliment Emma’s ethereal vocals, and delicate songwriting style; really proving the musicianship between each member and really elevating this song to a higher level. full of vocal harmonies, intricate melodies and instrumentation, it’s a lovely balance between alternative rock, folk and pop – a must-listen for any fan of good music! โ๏ธ

after a bunch of incredible releases over the past few years, and having had performed across the North West a bunch they’ve just released their latest single, a lovely dreamy and atmospheric tune ๐ถ
this is their first release in two years, following their second album – it’s opens up with a luscious guitar line, laden over a relaxed and mellow foundation of rhythm – and the vocal comes in so smoothly, complimented so well by the instrumentation, and given so much space to flow through each line ๐ the track builds so well, a lovely soundscape throughout and there’s so many dreamy atmospheric elements that come together to create something truly wonderful – a fantastic listen, expertly put together! ๐
