our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from one of our favourites Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers “Playground“!

we’re massive fans of these guys, having released their first major single “Run & Hide” last year to critical acclaim and catching them live throughout the past few months, they’ve got some real belters under their belts, an incredible live stage presence coupled with Nat’s prolific songwriting style just goes to prove that they’re easily ones to watch here in Manchester.

this new tune only shows off their talent and prowess, the song starts out with a gorgeous guitar progression balanced by Nat’s delicate and smooth vocal, telling his story so effortlessly as the band behind him create a lovely backdrop for the song. you can really hear the chemistry of the band in this song, how well they all gel together throughout and work together to create a fantastic listen and another boss release from themselves. plus, absolutely quality songwriting here from Nat and the guitar solo is so effortlessly cool!

we’ve been looking forward to this one for a good while now, we love Lanterns’ indie/dream-pop sound and we’re stoked to be able to get them on for a headline here with us. with support from The Internet Café and River Water, it’s gonna be a belter!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the incredible new single from Hayden J Barlow “COZENAGE“! 💥

we’ve covered Hayden’s music a whole bunch recently and his album last year was bloody fantastic. a real unique artist with a sound that he’s done so well to define his own stamp on it and call it his own 🤘

this new tune “COZENAGE” only continues in his trend of quality releases, expanding out on his signature sound with the familiar aspects of his music, with his trip-hop influenced beats, hyperpop and soul elements throughout and gorgeous vocal synthesis. 🙌

it starts off lovely and mellow, only to build and build to a calm before the storm that progresses so well to create such a crazy wall of sound and atmosphere that really shows off the progress he’s made in production and beatmaking – a real testament to his talent. there’s such a groove behind this track too, with chopped and sliced drums throughout giving such an interesting backdrop for his vocal and lyricism to sit above. definitely one that’s gonna go far! 👊
