Cream of the Crop 20/06: Artist Focus! ☀️

Thought we’d do a little thorough post here about some of the artists we have performing for us at ‘Cream of the Crop 20/06’ this coming Saturday!

Tay Temple – we’ve known Tay for quite a while now and she’s only gone from strength to strength with every performance! A talented singer-songwriter originally from the North East of England, she’s made her home here in Manchester and has really honed her craft! Her direct and heartfelt songwriting accompanied by mellow guitarwork really sets her apart from the rest. You can find her debut single (out only three months ago) on Spotify or Bandcamp! Well worth a listen. We featured it in our last episode of Bread Radio!

Mark Pratt – Mark’s been on our radar for a few years now and his energetic and emotional performances are definitely not to be missed. His style of blues mixed with folk and even some elements of indie are a great combo that we over at Bread Records love! His self-titled debut album is full of great songs, one of our favourites has to be ‘She’s The Reason (Bay of Pigs)’ or ‘I Was Made For Loving You’ – you can find his music on Spotify or go and have a gander at his Bandcamp!

Dora Noszkay – we’ve only known Dora for a short amount of time but we love her music, and she’s an absolutely lovely person! We had her play Breadstock this year, where she astounded us with a fantastic performance 🙂 You can find her debut single ‘In The Morning’ (again, which we featured on Bread Radio!) on Spotify, or on Bandcamp! Keep up to date, we expect great things 💥

Daniel Clarke – to say that Danny is a cornerstone of the local music scene in Manchester is an understatement. He’s been hosting open mics, performing at various venues and in different bands since well before we came over to the big city! A top bloke with some absolutely fantastic tunes. Definitely check out ‘Victorian Terraced‘ (find it on YouTube!)! We even featured his band ‘Death to the Strange’ on our compilation CD ‘Born and Bread‘ back in 2017. Well worth a listen, you’ll be transported right into the Mancunian world. His track ‘Trampin’ Stampin” is available over on Bandcamp!

Some absolutely amazing artists performing for us this weekend. Go and catch it all over on Facebook at our page – or in our Bread Social group!

Party in the Pantry: Artist Focus!

We thought we’d do a massive post about the artists we having coming up for you on Saturday for Party in the Pantry alongside Manchester Women Songwriters!

Rob Crampton – we’ve caught Rob plenty of times on the local circuit and he always continues to impress us! we featured his latest single ‘Deeper Than A Thousand Miles’ on our ‘Just The Crust’ a few weeks back and it’s a brilliant song! Check it out on Spotify here! Definitely one to watch on the scene!

Sophie Grace Ahmed – we’re huge fans of Sophie’s music, we’ve known her for a long time and she is fantastic! we love her honest and focused songwriting style – a huge talent on the scene! can’t wait to see what she’s got planned for us this time 🙂

Claire Jordan – Claire is a familiar face across Manchester especially over at MWS gigs and she always excels! her songwriting ability is lovely and she always delivers a captivating performance! we can’t wait to catch her set, sure it’s going to be fantastic!

Chloe Lawrence – we aren’t really that familiar with Chloe!! so we’re going to post an excerpt from Manchester Women Songwriters’ post‘From her bohemian roots in the mountains of Spain, Chloe has been forged in the folk revelations of the 60’s. Her natural wanderlust led her to revelously dance barefoot with her audience at beach parties and juxtapose this with contemplative intimate sets, where the ethos of her style showcases the classical elements of folk music, synergising it with her own fierce independent modernity.’ We can’t wait to catch her set!! you can catch her latest release ‘CAFÉ’ here!

Ade – Ade is one of our favourite songwriters on the scene, with an absolutely recognisable songwriting talent that has delighted listeners all across Manchester! we love his music and he is a fantastic person – he keeps on releasing fantastic songs and we absolutely can’t wait to catch him performing live for us again. go and find his music on Spotify here!

michael webster – we don’t think we need to talk too much about our next artist. Michael runs the label and hosts all of our gigs – inspired by artists such as Courtney Barnett, Kate Bush, Bob Dylan, Neil Young – and everyone on the scene too! Check out his music on Spotify or Bandcamp!

That’s about it for our post.. make sure you catch us on Saturday from 7pm on the Facebook pages Bread Records and Manchester Women Songwriters to catch all the action! Raising funds for Emmeline’s Pantry – you can donate here!
