there’s only two weeks to go til we’re down at Band on the Wall celebrating the release of the debut album “Necromancer” from Anyone’s Ghost
it’s been a long time coming, and it’s almost here! with support from Emo Cringe Compilation and Fordaze – it’s sure to be a real special night for us, with our next major release out on the label and we’ve put so much work into this!
it would be incredible to see a load of familiar faces at this – we’ll be starting up at 7pm and tickets are only £7.50+bf, you can get them over at https://fatso.ma/XEDt
the debut full-length album “Necromancer” by Anyone’s Ghost is available to pre-order now out July 20th!
featuring contributions from michael webster, Max Macmillan, Scatterchild and Isabel Williamson, it’s the longest release we’ve ever put out, coming in at around 58 minutes – produced over the past year and a half by our very own michael webster. a testament to Wanda’s incredible songwriting ability, with fourteen tracks that only expand on the prowess and talent shown in the 2021 release “A Good Winter In June“.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Shadows Of A Silhouette “My Hunny“!
we’re huge fans of these guys, having covered their music a bunch in the past and even having them perform for us last year as part of our gigs down at the Grafton Arms
this new tune is a feel-good anthem, still in the indie dimension of their previous tunes but you can really hear the more mellow elements shine through. with exquisite and intense lyricism, you can really hear the passion put into their music – the instrumentation behind it ties it all together so well, with the drums providing a gorgeous rhythm to the track, the loose guitar pattern and driving bassline creating a real groove and the lead guitar giving a lovely final touch to the track. another banger under the belt for these guys!
you can find it on all streaming platforms, including Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/artist/6EuOHKKHN8mLHVwlKli6zE – well worth checking out! make sure you get the chance to see these guys live, incredible stage presence!
we’re proper made up to be able to announce this one, with a headline show with Scatterchild at Cultplex on the Friday 11th August
having captivated audiences across Manchester over the past few years with huge hooks, captivating lyricism and an intense stage presence, and putting out an entrancing EP “The Whispers We Leave” at the end of last year, it’s our pleasure to be able to host Scatterchild on their next main headline show.
we’re starting up real soon, at 2pm – come on down for great live music, quality pints on tap, veggie/vegan food served all afternoon and free entry! gonna be lovely. find out more at Cream of the Crop: 1st July!
we had a belter of a time last Saturday over at the Grafton Arms for “Graftonbury” celebrating 174 years of Joseph Holt 🎂 . big love to KyletoolanmusicJimmy Page XI and Laura Farrow for playing extended sets for us, what a show of incredible local talent around 🙌 and a huge thanks to everyone who played the open mic slots and came and watched! a fantastic scene around us ❤️
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Exit Love” from HWY!
we were massive fans of their first two singles, which really set them as ones to watch on the North West scene – we’ve also had them perform for us at our Toasted gigs and for Halloweezer and their live sets are extraordinary, with an incredible stage presence and a real ability to move a crowd
this new single sees them expand on their grungey sound, with gorgeous guitar melodies throughout which create a lovely soundscape and atmosphere for the track – the calm groove is a beautiful backdrop for the vocals to soar over, and Ryan’s vocal sounds spectacular here; maintaining control over the track and as it opens up to the chorus, his power and rage is only complimented by the instrumentation, a ferocious outburst of energy that we’ve come to see with all of HWY’s releases. the dynamic of this track is lush, there’s so much energy and restraint all at once – the breakdown is a serene breath of fresh air from the chaos and power of the rest of the track, and the guitar riffs are second to none. yet another incredible release from these guys!
come on down next Saturday 1st July from 1pm – 5pm to catch all the action – free entry, quality pints on tap, veggie/vegan food served all afternoon! find out more at our event Cream of the Crop: 1st July!
an incredible show, everyone smashed their sets and it was brilliant to host this one – big love to Turtle Park and King Liar for supporting, class to see!
