we’ve got a fantastic run of gigs coming up at the end of July, running into August – a lovely way to spend the summer ☀️

this coming Saturday we’ll be at the Grafton Arms for The Slice, raising money for The Christie Charity with the amazing talents of Glacmanis, The Joys, Philan Ross + Sprue, and Wyse performing for us – it’s gonna be a belter, all for a great cause! 🍕

then on the Friday 26th July we head on over to Lions Den Manchester for the long-awaited return of On The Rise – with the incredible talents of Mexican Painkiller, ENUMA ELISH, sayseamake and Empty Space gracing the stage, it’s gonna be a heavy one. don’t miss out 👊

and on the Saturday 3rd of August we’re down at Band on the Wall for Bread On The Wall – featuring our very own Scatterchild, Anyone’s Ghost, michael webster and Eyam 🤝 a lovely label gig in such a fantastic venue here in Manchester!

we had a super lovely night down at the Grafton Arms last Friday for “A Summer Cabaret“, celebrating the birthdays of Anyone’s Ghost and Decreece – plus with the amazing Blake Cateris performing for us too 🌙

a huge thank you to everyone who came down and attended, it was a super special night with so much talent, so many great artists performing for us for the open mic and our feature artists were insane as always! great to see 🤝

we’ll be kicking off from 1pm, free entry, quality drinks on offer and veggie/vegan food served all afternoon – gonna be a great day of music! 🍞

last Saturday we were at The Thirsty Scholar for our Cream of the Crop, a lovely day with amazing sets from Joe Kutryk The Dove & The Dragon Abi Til and Tallulah Guard – a massive thank you to everyone who came down to support! 🌾

then this coming Friday 12th July we’re at the Grafton Arms for “A Summer Cabaret“, celebrating the birthdays of Anyone’s Ghost and Decreece, who will be performing feature sets – and we have the amazing Blake Cateris playing for us too! going to be a lovely night, open mic slots available too 🌙

on the Saturday 20th July we return to the Grafton Arms for The Slice, raising funds for The Christie Charity – with feature artists Glacmanis The Joys Philan Ross & Sprue and Wyse – it’s sure to be an exceptional one, for a great cause! 🍕

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Mad By Mourning “Black Car“! 👊

we covered their previous single last year, “Creature Of Habit“, and we were astounded by their gothic, industrial sound – yet infusing a range of various influences, to truly create something that they can call their own – you can hear punk, metal, emo and chock-full of lyrical ingenuity, catchy hooks; it truly set them as ones to watch! 😊

this new single begins in a more moody, darker vein compared to the previous, with a riff heavy, distorted atmosphere in the opening stage – it gives a load of room for the main vocal to take command in the first verse, demanding the listener’s attention – utilising the soundscape effectively, and with a fantastic, catchy and lyrically adept chorus – they’ve only gone beyond our expectations for this one. the grunginess and heaviness of the track is perfectly balanced with the more atmospheric elements of it, a lovely use of dynamic and contrast – fantastic to see, well worth a listen!! 🎧 (also with a luscious guitar solo too!)
