the brand new track from grapevine. “Bad Idea“, is our feature for this week’s Just The Crust 🌙
after a run of fantastic singles over the past year or so, the North-East based act has seen his tracks be featured on BBC Introducing, countless playlists and found a real community of listeners for his music – racking up thousands of streams in such a short time! 🤘
this new single sounds incredible, with synths and atmospheres reminiscent of 80’s pop, and luscious soundscapes layering the foundation of the track to create something that not only feels nostalgic, but fresh and unique – and the main vocal immediately takes control of the track, with direct and flowing delivery, a great tone to it and honest, raw storytelling, yet maintaining a singalong catchy hook; brilliant to see! it’s a real gem, definitely one to put on before a night out 🍷
we’ve had some incredible open mics down at Peaky Blinders Manchester so far, our newest open mic night!
our fourth one on Wednesday was superb, so much talent and so much variety – we love to see it! if you’re interested in performing, then just get in touch with our michael webster for a slot via DM or email to michael@breadrecords.co.uk
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Ballad 3 (Jamaica ’59)” from HerOrangeCoat ✨
the West-Yorkshire indie-folk singer-songwriter already has a fantastic run of music behind them, with a plethora of singles over the past few years, and this new track is a part of their upcoming EP due in November 🎶
the track sounds absolutely lovely, a luscious ukulele strumming pattern laying the foundation of the track, giving ample space for her gorgeous vocal to soar above – and allowing the listener to hang onto every word, delicately woven lyricism throughout that is benefitted by backing harmonies lacing the backdrop. the instrumentation on this song is fantastic, with a brilliant build, the track almost effortlessly grows into a full band vibe – it’s an incredible listen. we can’t wait to hear the EP in full! 🌙
you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a music video available on YouTube at https://youtu.be/FdRauyVFHFI – well worth checking out 🤝
