here’s a lil teaser of the first single from Anyone’s Ghost “The Secret History” live from The Peer Hat in April
the first headline gig as a band, it was sensational – big love to Latex Sounds for hosting us, and what a night with so many people down to support! such a great way to celebrate the new single.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Souza “Morning Calling“!
we were blown away by their previous release “Backroads” back in February, only adding to an already strong catalogue of releases under their belt, and this new tune only solidifies the quality in their discography
opening up with an energetic groove behind the track, there’s a real lovely lo-fi atmosphere to it all – the grungey guitar tones sound lovely, creating a lush backdrop for the vocals to shine through. the rhythm section throughout is super tight, holding the track down while the main vocal glides over, and for the lead guitar to find a space for that little riff to excel in. even with the breakdown throughout the second verse, it still keeps up with the energetic feel – excellently executed! the vocal harmonies throughout really gel the track together, and keep it flowing; we imagine this one’ll be a great one live. incredible stuff! plus, guitar solos in abundance on this, and they sound class, showing off the musical quality within the band.
“Necromancer“, the debut album from Anyone’s Ghost is a week old today!
we’re blown away by the feedback from everyone, so many great things said about it – a huge thank you to all of you who have listened, streamed and purchased the album. we’re just short of 7k streams on Spotify alone, how incredible!
“Debbie Harry“, the brand new single from Olivia Browse will be available on all streaming platforms on the 18th August
we can’t wait for this one, it’s taken from her upcoming debut EP – we’re super excited for it and this track sounds mega, one of our favourites for sure and another Olivia Browse classic, with incredible production as always from Shtum!
we’re super excited for this, we’re massive fans of Luc’s music and he’s bringing his full 9-piece band to the stage for us! plus, with support from PedroPedroPedro and Jessica Luise – it’s sure to be a belter.
what an incredible night on Thursday down at Band on the Wall for our headline celebrating the release of “Necromancer“, the debut album from Anyone’s Ghost
it was our busiest gig yet, with 90 people coming down to celebrate this special day with us – a huge thank you to everyone who attended, it made it one to remember. what a lovely night! . a huge thank you to Emo Cringe Compilation and Fordaze for playing support slots, we loved you guys and you were boss
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Flowers Of Evil + The strangerz “Out of Bed“!
we’ve been huge fans of Flowers of Evil since we heard their track “Cherry-AID” last year, with their infectious energy, smooth groove and unexpected track flow and structure, they really put themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the North West scene!
this new single only reinforces their infectious upbeat style, with a gorgeous hook right from the get-go, only to explode into a huge electronic melody that’s sure to get anyone grooving. the dynamic of this song is lush, dropping away and breaking down immediately to push the focus on the vocal, becoming super intimate and proving their musical prowess. the balance between the verses and the choruses is expertly handled, it’s very difficult to create a contrast like this but they’ve pulled it off, the groove of the track is lovely and it flows super well.
the production of the song is fantastic, with really intrinsically created soundscapes, it keeps the attention of the listener so well and there’s a whole bunch of stuff going on, without feeling too much or chaotic in any way – the bridge is almost a dream-like state, flowing effortlessly throughout until it explodes into the final chorus that just gels the track together superbly. we can’t wait to hear this one live!
you can find it over on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/artist/0m3FoEPROirtK5hZpJV7W4 – it’s available to check out on all streaming sites, and is well worth a full listen! another incredible release under their belts.
