Just The Crust 06/05/24: VALA – Fishing God ๐Ÿ‘Š

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new EP from VALAFishing God“! ๐Ÿ‘Š

we’ve covered VALA a bunch over the past year or so and we’re always blown away by the quality of their tunes, so many belters and they’ve got a super unique sound; and when we caught them live at The Deaf Institute they were incredible, a brilliant night. ๐Ÿ˜Š

this new EP only continues this trend, with a couple of tracks that we’re already huge fans of, and a few new ones thrown in there too! their lo-fi indie pop sound is on full force here, with lush guitar tones throughout and feelgood upbeat vibes – set to a lovely laidback atmosphere. the opener “Change Your Mind” is one of the new ones, and it sounds incredible, a real show of their unique style. amazing! well worth checking out, a bunch of great tunes! ๐ŸŽถ

you can find the EP on all streaming sites, including Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/artist/26tcWRMjTwUJks8fvo4JIs – definitely worth listening, a load of great tracks in their back catalogue too! ๐Ÿค

Just The Crust 29/04/24: Keddy Sowels – Reflection ๐ŸŽถ

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Keddy SowelsReflection“!

a regular face here in Manchester, he’s been performing across the city at gigs and open mics and already has some lovely tunes out – well worth checking them out; and his brand new single here marks a different direction for the indie-rock artist. ๐ŸŽธ

“Reflection” is more of an electronic track, moving away from the guitar-based indie anthemic tone of his previous tracks, with synths and electronic drums making their way to the forefront of the tune – and with less singing, more rapping – it shows a different side to his music. ๐ŸŽถ still maintaining the political and social commentary of his earlier tracks, it’s a stark look at the state of current society.

you can find the track on all streaming platforms, including Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/artist/7erGB63SVoZJpFC7ABPHjf – check it out! ๐Ÿ’ฅ
