such a special evening, with so much talent including Old Sun, New Moon Narwhals Hazel Genevieve Michael Gian Akhurst Decreece and our host michael webster – a massive shout to them for performing, and to everyone who came down and made it so lovely!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Ballad 3 (Jamaica ’59)” from HerOrangeCoat ✨

the West-Yorkshire indie-folk singer-songwriter already has a fantastic run of music behind them, with a plethora of singles over the past few years, and this new track is a part of their upcoming EP due in November 🎶

the track sounds absolutely lovely, a luscious ukulele strumming pattern laying the foundation of the track, giving ample space for her gorgeous vocal to soar above – and allowing the listener to hang onto every word, delicately woven lyricism throughout that is benefitted by backing harmonies lacing the backdrop. the instrumentation on this song is fantastic, with a brilliant build, the track almost effortlessly grows into a full band vibe – it’s an incredible listen. we can’t wait to hear the EP in full! 🌙

we’ve got a stellar one in store for us, with music from Monopoly Pink Judderman Banana Undertones and The Memos raising funds for The Christie Charity!

we’ll be starting up at 7:30pm, a lovely night coming up – great drinks on offer, cheap prices, all for a great cause! we can’t wait!

and then on Saturday we’re at the Grafton Arms for our flagship “The Slice” show, raising funds for The Christie Charity – we’ve got some incredible bands on, including Monopoly Pink Judderman Banana Undertones and The Memos a fantastic night in store, all for a great cause!

Just The Crust 14/10/24: Sip Of Milk – The Felled 🎶

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Sip of Milk “The Felled“! ☀️

we’ve been fans of Sip Of Milk for a good while now, having had them perform for us a bunch and reviewed a load of their tunes – fantastic band with a lovely attitude to creating good authentic music 🎶

this new single is a deeper, more personal track, with raw and intimate lyricism embedded in the tune right from the get-go, and vocals soaring above the dark, delicate melody of the guitar picking pattern – flowing smoothly through harmonies to really create a gorgeous space. it’s benefitted by the gorgeous guitar work above, weaving across the track – and the drop into the chorus hits hard, and effective. a lovely build in this track, and the nature of the track perfectly balances to the mood of the lyrics – a brilliant listen! 🎧
