The Wrap: April 2025 ๐ŸŒฎ

we’re back with our next edition of The Wrap feature! ๐Ÿค

we’ve got reviews of some of our favourite releases of April, and it’s been another fantastic month – you can find all of our reviews below โฌ‡๏ธ

Manchester’s own Creepy Crawly has just released the new single “The Tide“! a delicate and intricate ballad, both atmospheric and conversational, it’s a gorgeous tune. with passionate lyrics that paint a real picture and convey such emotion, lovely guitar melodies lacing the foreground and powerful yet delicate vocals, backed with a strong rhythm section providing the foundation, it’s an incredible listen – can’t wait for the release of the full album!

a familiar face for us, Jonny Beer has just put out “Aeroplanes“! following the release of his EP last year, he’s come back with another folk-rock anthem – albeit a more moody tone, it’s got a lovely swaying groove to it, and Jonny’s vocals cut through sharply to ensure the attention of the listener is on his expert wordcraft. his ability to convey a story is fantastic, and this tune is real evidence of his talent!

we’ve caught Kieran Arnold perform so many times now, and we’re always astounded by his ability to create a catchy yet powerful tune – and this new single “Get Away” is evident of that! it’s got a proper 90’s indie feel to it, but with his more modern storytelling and songwriting elements, and his story is portrayed in expert fashion here. with a full band behind him, it’s only elevated his talent and we’re huge fans of his music! well worth a listen!

we’ve caught FLEUR ROUGE a fair few times live now, and her ability to command a crowd’s attention is second to none – something that is evident all throughout her new EP “Wish You The Worst“! with driving basslines, expert production and no-nonsense lyricism, these tunes are quality and provide a real look into her world. she’s able to utilise great vocal melodies, catchy hooks and powerful lyricism to create something that is truly unique to her style.

we’ve had Summerhouse perform for us a bunch now, and we’re constantly in awe from their musical talent – this new single “Reverence” sounds fantastic! it’s got a gorgeous atmosphere behind it, feeling both intimate and conversational, almost like having a heart-to-heart with the raw lyrics that convey feelings and emotion expertly. the full band brings a lovely folky, country feel to the track, and really forms a real foundation to the track – it’s a fantastic listen!

we’ve been fans of Harriet Dagnall for a good while now, having caught her live so many times and she’s a real cornerstone of the Manchester folk scene, her new track “Two Doors Down” only proves her talent even further. it’s a delicate, raw track that not only feels intricate, but also opens up to a gorgeous atmosphere, with expert production behind the track, elevating her innate ability to write a song – her vocal melodies and lyrical capabilities are on full display here. it’s a brilliant tune and well worth checking out!

we covered pyncher’s first single a few months ago, and they’ve returned with this new tune “Space Rocket Simulator“! it’s got a super groove behind it, with the bass and drums working in perfect unison to create a lovely foundation, and with gorgeous guitar melodies, and commanding vocals, it not only sounds fantastic but the contrasts of the verses to the choruses really ensure their musical capabilities are on full display. they’ve managed to create something that traverses a plethora of genres, and the tune sounds incredible – we love it!

we’ve had Freddie Evans perform for us at a bunch of our open mics, and we love his raw and passionate songwriting style, and he’s just released his debut single “So Long, Sweet Summer Breeze“! compromising of two tracks, they’re both two delicate and intricate tunes, really ensuring that the live element is kept within the music, yet adding extra instrumentation and production techniques to give it that studio feel. Freddie’s vocals sound fantastic here, and he’s able to convey his story in adept fashion – it’s a lovely listen and well worth checking out!

it’s been yet another amazing month, with so many brilliant tunes being released; plus, so many that we didn’t cover – thanks to everyone who has checked this out, and we hope you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿค˜

the North Wales based artist has been making waves over the past few years, with a run of incredible singles out and having performed across the country – plus, supporting The Sherlocks on their current tour! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

this is his first release of 2025, and he’s come out swinging with a hard-hitting, in-your-face tune that’s reminiscent of noughties indie, but with a modern feel – his songwriting talent really ensures that you’re hanging onto every word, and the story he conveys is down-to-earth and relatable. the song has a powerful energy, with a fierce singalong chorus, a lovely driving rhythm behind it and feeling fresh throughout the whole tune. a great listen and definitely one to watch for the future! ๐Ÿค
