we’ve just compiled all of the tracks from our Just The Crust reviews into one big 2024 playlist
there’s been so many, a brilliant range of music and it’s been a pleasure to write all these up – a fantastic indication of the talent in the local scene! a huge shout out to everyone who has sent us music for review
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Anne-Marie Sanderson “Bright Air“! 🌙
we’ve covered her music in the past, her debut album “Old Light“, which came out in September, and it was a real joy to listen to – such well crafted tracks, lovely atmospheres throughout and an incredible debut 👊
this new single, which was released on the 15th of December, only continues with the trend of delicate, intricately woven songs – it’s a tale of ebb and flow, within the winter months; the piano pattern sets the scene for the track, and Anne-Marie’s vocal soars above, telling her tale in a descriptive and inviting fashion; there’s a real lovely natural flow throughout the tune that really sets it apart from the rest 🤝
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Creature” from Moss Valley 🤘
their second offering, we loved their previous debut “Beyond“, which was an explosive and fierce introduction to the band – and when we had them perform for us, we were astounded by their stage presence and musical prowess! a must-see band 💥
this new single continues with their grungey sounds of the debut, yet with a more fast-paced, punky atmosphere – a real powerful guitar line forming the foundation of the track, with massive rhythm from the bass and drums working in perfect unison to provide a driving groove to the tune, leaving plenty of space for lead singer Zara’s vocal to take charge 👊 and with expert lyricism, depicting the story of a being that attempts to go against the grain, told in a well-woven tale 🌙
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Marc Todd “Hey, What Do You Want To Say?” 👊
this is his eighth release, after a string of fantastic singles over 2024, and performing across the North West regularly, including shows at HMV Manchester and Liverpool, he’s making his mark on the North West scene 🎬
this new single sounds lovely, a real late 90’s indie feel to it, a proper Manchester element behind it yet feeling fresh and new – it’s got a proper singalong chorus that is sure to get any listener hooked. the track has a real groove behind it, with drums and bass providing a lovely foundation and setting for the acoustic guitar to provide the drive of the track, and plenty of space for Marc’s vocal to take charge above and command the listener’s attention! it’s well worth a listen 🎧
