today’s Just The Crust feature is the brand new single “Not Quite There Yet” from Nat Dempsey! ๐ถ
we’re huge fans of Nat, with his effortless, down-to-earth and relatable songwriting talent, and his ability to create a standout melody that will stick in your head – his last single “Everyday People” was an incredible show of his ability, and he’s just dropped his second single ๐
this new single takes a bit more of a mellow and atmospheric approach, compared to his last single, with the same jangley indie-pop sound building through the verses, with a lovely chorus-ey guitar tone, playing a lovely laid-back and flowing melody, and his vocal taking command and ensuring the listener’s attention on his storytelling, with carefully-crafted, personal and picturesque lyrics, and a lovely foundation of a driving bass and tight drums that really glue the track together. it’s a fantastic listen, and a brilliant indication of his talent ๐
the next release “Live At The Church” from Scatterchild drops next Friday 4th April! ๐
we’re made up with how gorgeous this one sounds, recorded live at Sacred Trinity Church, featuring a brand new track “In The Rut“, providing a superb show of the next chapter of Scatterchild’s music ๐

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Falling” from The Late Freddie Price! โ๏ธ
we’ve covered Freddie’s music a bunch lately, and he’s been making his mark on the Manchester scene, performing across the city and getting his music out there – and with his descriptive, down-to-earth and relatable lyrics, his blend of folk, rock and blues, he’s ensuring his position as one to watch ๐
this new single “Falling” sounds mega, a more upbeat 60’s rock influence to the track, and it’s got a superb rhythm to it right from the get-go, and with a jangly guitar pattern, lovely vocal harmonies and his simple yet effective lyricism, you can hear the feel-good elements to the track immediately. his vocal takes centre-stage and ensures the listener’s attention, and it’s got a lovely bassline that compliments the drumwork, creating a great space for the foundation of the track. it’s a proper great listen, and well worth checking out! ๐ค
you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a music video available to watch on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuUItjZXxEg – give it a watch! ๐น

this new single sounds incredible, with a real jazzy element right from the get-go, a lovely feel good atmosphere with the rhythm sections in perfect sync, creating a fantastic soundscape, and a brilliant backdrop for the lead vocal to take charge – Di’s vocals sound amazing here, and her delivery is top-notch; really outpouring the emotion and feelings to make this track one to remember. the backing of the bass and drums give the track a real sense of groove, accentuating the silky pianowork – it’s a super lovely listen ๐ง
