we can’t wait for it, plus we’ve got the amazing talents of Ayanam Udoma Music as our feature artist – one of our favourites here in Manchester, a real talent not to be missed. plus, his latest single “Here We Are (The Unbroken)” is incredible, we covered it in our The Wrap feature for January
if you’re keen to perform, drop michael webster a message – 7pm start, free drink for each performer and always a lovely one.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Bonfire Tide “The Old Boys“!
we were astounded by their first few releases back in 2021, really encapsulating a unique sound consisting of modern indie rock music, with a real touch of nostalgia for 2000’s contemporary folk music – yet defining themselves as ones to watch with intricate melodies and honed musicianship.
they’ve gone above and beyond with this new release, not only remaining true to their original sound but expanding upon it, with a gorgeous backdrop to the track, laced with delicate piano runs, cello flowing throughout the soundscape, all which only compliment David’s vocal – you can tell that there’s been time and effort put into every single melody on the track to ensure that it all comes together to create something special. the explosivity of the latter section of the track creates a gorgeous contrast within it, driving the hook home and establishing a real sense of ferocity in their music.
you can find the single over on YouTube with a full music video over at https://youtu.be/Y8Ua1SZZkBw – it’s available to stream on all the platforms as well. well worth a listen, we can’t wait to hear more!

we’re super stoked to announce that we’ve got one of our favourites Tay Temple over on a headline show at The Castle Hotel on Saturday 13th of May 💥
Tay’s easily one of our favourites here in Manchester, her and her band have been smashing it over the past year, when she played a headline for us back in October it was absolutely incredible, last month at Lions Den Manchester with Olivia Browse was spectacular and she’s only gone and released her latest single “Still Here” which is a real indication of her talent for songwriting and creativity, we love it ☀️
we can’t wait for the 13th of May, not only is she headlining it’s her birthday too (and Eurovision!!) so it’s bound to be a belter. you can get our first wave of early bird tickets right now over on Fatsoma for only £5 +bf – check them out at https://fatso.ma/Xwqt 🍞
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Yorkshire-based Sunbeam-band “Empire“!
their first release of 2023, they’ve followed up their previous singles and EP with a great one here, an indie-rock anthem reminiscent of 90’s britpop bands but still bringing their own flavour to the track, almost dreamy in certain areas with a lovely guitar line gracing the forefront of the track, with a fast-paced groove accompanying the lead vocal which is direct, clear and commands the attention of the listener. it’s a lovely tune with a lovely message behind the lyrics, about relationships and the need to work on them together, yet holds this message in a lure of imagery and descriptive lyricism.
you can find it over on all the streaming platforms, or find the full studio video over on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRZPURlNwGo – have a listen to the full track, can’t wait to hear more from these guys!
