Just The Crust 21/07/25: Sura Laynes – Summer Soul ๐Ÿ‘Š

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Summer Soul” from Sura Laynes! ๐Ÿ‘Š

the Derbyshire-based outfit have been making a real name for themselves over the past few years, having released a string of fantastic singles, and performing across the East Midlands and even taking to the stage at Y Not Festival in a few weeks! โ˜€๏ธ

we’ve covered their music a few times in the past, and we’re huge fans of their upbeat, down-to-earth folky sound, and this new single is no different – with a real gritty texture from the get-go, it’s got relatable, grounded lyricism, and you can hear the musicianship within the band, how well they gel together and that they’re truly creating something unique to themselves. this track has a real catchy hook, a proper singalong anthem – it’s a great listen and another lovely tune under their belts! ๐Ÿ™Œ

you can find the single on all streaming platforms, including on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/album/4q8mGeWOwGAJ123xHJvkVF – well worth checking out! ๐ŸŽง

Just The Crust 14/07/25: The Stride – Got To Lose ๐Ÿ‘Š

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Got To Lose” by Burnley-based indie outfit The Stride! ๐Ÿ‘Š

following the release of their single “Hold On” last year, the band have gone from strength to strength, performing across the North West and beyond, taking their indie rock tunes with them and astounding audiences – reminiscent of 90’s Manchester vibes ๐Ÿ’ฅ

this new single opens up with a nostalgic guitar progression, backed with a real tight rhythm section that holds it together, giving plenty of room for the lead guitar melody to flow over the top – and the main vocal takes command immediately, it’s a real indie anthemic vibe to it with a singalong chorus and with a proper stadium rock feel ๐Ÿ™Œ

you can find the track on all streaming platforms, including on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/track/4amjsztM3PMSikUtztUlLH?si=e41b352d3ea2479e – well worth checking out! ๐ŸŽง

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the explosive new single “P.O.S” from Tay Temple! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

we’ve known Tay for a good long time now, and we’re always blown away by her music and her drive – she’s got so many bangers under her belt and this is yet another incredible track. there’s a headline show on the 12th of September which we can’t wait for – tickets at https://www.fatsoma.com/e/p2g8wbed/vortex-presents-tay-temple ๐Ÿ‘Š

this single “P.O.S” sounds incredible, her in-your-face, no-nonsense attitude is present throughout the tune, and right from the get-go, Tay’s vocal immediately grips the listener’s attention, with direct lyricism and driving guitars punching through. as the track opens up, the drums and bassline lay a strong foundation for the tune, perfectly complimenting the guitar riffs and ensuring Tay’s powerful vocals and straight-talking lyrics take centre stage ๐Ÿ™Œ a real angry anthem for the modern age!
