Will and their band were incredible, and our support acts Werking Them’s Club and The Creature Appeal sounded class – brilliant to see! a huge thank you to everyone who came down to watch!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Chris Tavener “The Daily Grind“!
we’ve known Chris for a real long time now, he’s a staple of the Manchester music scene having performed here a plethora of times over the past few years, and his witty and comical music always stands out – his ability to capture any audience in his grasp is inspirational!
we’ve been big fans of his music for ages, his EP “Easy Ways To Be Happy” last year was sensational and he’s returned with another incredible track! continuing with his usual satirical style, he’s taking a playful swipe at the cost of living crisis of today, fueled by the consumption of coffee by the current society – mixed with an upbeat, jangly-pop musical backdrop give a real sense of urgency behind his lyrics. there’s the usual sense of humour that we’ve come to expect with Chris, and his originality is paramount throughout, he’s created a track that you can definitely tell is his own; another fantastic release!
we’re back on down at The Dockyard for our open mic tonight from 7pm!
we’re super looking forward to this, we’ve had a bunch of proper lush events there so far and we’re sure tonight will be no different, with a fantastic variety of talent from the Manchester scene performing for us
this Saturday we’ll be back down at the Grafton Arms for our headline show with Will Walton – celebrating the release of their new EP “this is going to Hurt”!
we’ve been looking forward to this one for a good while now, and with Will performing with a full band, support from Werking Them’s Club and The Creature Appeal it’s bound to be a proper belter.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from VALA “Fishes“!
we’ve been huge fans of VALA for a while now, having reviewed their past few singles which sound mega, a real lovely atmosphere to them and such a feel-good sound. we caught them at The Deaf Institute on Friday and they were class – well worth heading to one of their live shows!
this new single only extends to their already-fantastic discography, with a gorgeous guitar melody laying the foundation of the song, a tight rhythm holding it together and the main vocal utilising the space of the track superbly, especially with the use of the autotune to bring a more synthetic sound to the song – it’s still got the upbeat elements of their previous releases but brings all of their different influences to it, which is brilliant to see.
we’ve got a stellar one in store for us, with feature slots from the incredible talents of Spooky GooseSorry Cheryl and Monday’s Pleasures – plus open mic slots from 6-9pm!
if you’re interested in performing, get in touch with our michael webster via DM or email to michael@breadrecords.co.uk – we’ll be taking cash and card donations for the charity too, and it all kicks off at 6pm, with quality beers on offer, food served til late and always a great atmosphere! find out more at our event The Slice @ The Grafton Arms – 18th November
