we’ve covered Hospital Radio’s music a bunch in the past, having reviewed their previous single “L.A“, had them play a few gigs for us here in Manchester over the past year or two and they’ve teamed up with fellow North West-based emo outfit When Suddenly for this split EP 👊

the EP is full of dreamy textures, melodic guitar riffs and driving rhythm sections, blending a range of sounds together to create real authentic, powerful and emotive tracks – the two bands are able to convey real feeling through their music, which perfectly compliments their lyrical ability, with raw and honest songwriting throughout – the collaboration between the bands lends itself to create an EP that flows superbly throughout the entirety 🌠

their first single in three years, the Nottingham trio have made a real name for themselves over the past decade, having played all across the UK and sharing the stage with names such as Michael Cera Palin and Crywank, selling out cassette tape runs of their previous EPs and cementing themselves within the UK DIY emo scene 👊

the track sounds fantastic, marking a new era of more direct, emotionally charged material – opening with a driving guitar chord progression that flows excellently alongside huge drums and bass, giving a real energetic foundation for the vocal to take command over. the lyrics are raw and honest, we love how personal and conversational they are, spilling secrets and emotion, conveying both anger and vulnerability effortlessly. it’s a brilliant listen 💥

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Turn To Crime” from Superfriends 🎶

we covered their previous EP “Superfriends Are Online” back in 2023, and we loved their energetic, infectious energy present within every track, and they’ve managed to translate and expand upon their signature sound effortlessly with this new release 🔈

the track opens with an upbeat and driving guitar melody, that really sets the scene for the track, yet with the energetic and jangly tone there’s a real contrast lyrically, with a stark and dark look at modern society. the track’s main hook “can I turn to crime, cause I want out of this sucker’s life” reflects a bleak outlook of the current situation, yet their ability to convey that anger and distress into a hopeful and positive energy is real proof of their musical talent. it’s a fantastic listen and we can’t wait to hear what else they have in store! 👊

the Manchester-based midwest-emo outfit have been on the scene for a good while now, and they released their debut single earlier last year – a great first tune for them! 👊

this new single “L.A.” follows on from the success of their debut, and with signature melodic guitar riffs, powerful and driving rhythm, accompanied by expert lyricism and fierce vocal delivery, it’s a real banger – their use of dynamic within their music compliments the songwriting style superbly, giving a real sense of flow to the track. it’s a great listen and a must for any fans of alternative indie/emo 🌙

the Sheffield-based emo trio have been performing a bunch over the past few months, making a real name for themselves on the scene, and putting out a run of fantastic singles in the meantime! 👊

this EP sounds fantastic, right from the get-go it’s full of lovely guitar riffs, gorgeous melodies that compliment the vocal expertly, and hard-hitting, driving rhythm that gives the EP a real energy behind it. the lyricism is great, their ability to paint a picture effortlessly with their songwriting is second to none. there’s so much dynamic in the tracks, building expertly and utilising breakdowns and structure to really create a run of tracks that you’ll listen to over and over 🎶

the Sheffield alt-rock outfit have been performing since 2023, and with a bunch of incredible releases already under their belt, having performed a bunch across the North at various prestigious venues, they’ve been making a name for themselves as ones to watch 🌙

this EP sounds fantastic, it’s got an incredible atmosphere flowing throughout each of the tracks, and with catchy, singalong hooks, expert songwriting and gorgeous guitar melodies and patterns ever-present in their music, they’ve crafted a lovely EP that sets themselves apart as a must-listen for any fans of alternative / mid-western inspired music. their music feels personal, and intimate, yet at the same time, have a real dynamic throughout, ranging from folky intricacy to driving grungey riffs – a brilliant listen! 🎶

the Birmingham-based emo outfit have been taking the scene by storm recently, having a strong discography under their belt already and performing across England at various prestigious venues! 👊 we reviewed their previous single last year and couldn’t wait to hear this!

this new EP sounds fantastic, chock-full of luscious guitar riffs, energetic and powerful rhythm and fierce and commanding vocals from the lead singer, really showing their desire to make music for themselves. there’s a real 2000’s throwback mixed into the tunes, along with other inspirations that ensure Vienna are ones to watch on the upcoming scene! the tracks are energetic and exciting, yet at the same time intimate and well-crafted – it’s a fantastic listen and one to check out for any fans of emo / punk music! 🎶

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Midlands-based emo outfit Vienna, “Ratatouille! I hardly know her…” out this Friday! 💥

their third single, it follows the success of their first two, which established them as ones to watch on the Midlands scene, and having garnered a bunch of attention with these releases, alongside a load of live performances, they’re back with a belter 👊

this new single sounds fantastic, expanding excellently on the mid-west stylings of their earlier work, with a more direct and polished shine to the sound of the track – the guitarwork in the introduction is luscious, with some gorgeous melodies in there, and it expands out into the main riff of the track with a ferocious energy; it really proves the energy and passion put into this track. 🌙 the guitar tones sound mega throughout, and the rhythm section perfectly compliment them, giving the main vocal ample room to command the listener’s attention with a direct and powerful force, ensuring the audience hang onto every word of theirs, with great lyrical storytelling, you can tell that there’s real passion put into every sentence – an incredible listen! 🎧

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Sheffield’s Pale Sailor “jorts season.“! 🍕

they formed last year, and this is their second single – after a fantastic debut track in March, which really set the scene for their emo/mid-west tone, with intricate soundscapes and intimate lyricism. we love their attention to detail, with gorgeous riffs and upbeat rhythm forming their music – and their second single here only accentuates that! 🤝

they’ve gone from strength to strength over the past few months, and “jorts season.” sounds fantastic, with grungey undertones, honest lyricism and driving rhythm really coming together to create an amazing tune. it’s got a lovely groove behind it, and there’s a brilliant dynamic, with a real sense of build throughout the whole track, proving their quality. what a track! 💫

this new single is the first from their upcoming EP, and it sounds mega – they released their debut EP “Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time” last year to critical acclaim, and having performed across London and surrounding areas, they’re back with their brand new release! ☀️

the new track sounds mega, with an indulgence of 90’s alternative influence, punk and emo vibes and math rock inspirations. it’s in-your-face, loud and punchy, with a lovely rhythmic element behind it, a jolty and powerful groove – and gorgeous guitar melodies and tones lacing the atmosphere of the track, giving a luscious space for the main vocal to shine through, and with lyricism relative to today – about the struggle of 9-5 jobs, the routine and disillusionment of modern society. well worth a listen! 🎧
