we’ve got two incredible shows coming up over the next couple of weeks at the Eagle Inn! 👊

this coming Saturday 12th we’re hosting the album launch for Abi Til – with support from the amazing St Cloud and Fionnuala Bradbury, and Abi’s set accompanied by the Underground Folk Collective, it’s sure to be a special one. 🌙

then next Saturday 19th we’ve got our fourth rendition of our “BAKED” band night, with the unreal talents of Alfie Erskine, Veneer, and Nice Things down for it – we can’t wait for it! 🥪

we had a superb evening for us down at the Eagle Inn last Thursday for our last “The Monthly Spread” show 🗞️

a massive shout to everyone who came down to support the night, we had a super lovely audience and our acts Matt Hooper, Narwhals, Jessica Dives, Madeline Thorp, Jack Hamilton and michael webster were incredible 🙌

it’s always a great show of the talent here in the local scene, and great to see so much support – we’ll be back next month with our next one, more info to come soon! 🍞

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Get Over It” from grunge outfit SUE! 🤝

the Midlands-based three-piece have a strong bunch of albums and singles under their belt already, with anthemic, punchy and raw tunes, and they’ve put out a proper belter with this new tune – ensuring themselves as ones to keep an eye out for! 🎶

this new track “Get Over It” opens up with a real in-your-face guitar riff, pounding drums and droney vocals, that create a moody and dark atmosphere behind the track – and the explosion into the chorus is huge, whilst the breakdown in the middle of the tune gives a real sense of breathing space, only to open up right back into the huge sound that they’ve cultivated. with a real driving feel behind the track, you can hear a vast variety of influences from different genres, and they’ve really brought them all together to create something truly unique to themselves. a must-listen for any fans of heavier tunes 👊

it’s another incredible month of gigs coming up for us, with so much on in April! 🎶

this Thursday 3rd we’re down at the Eagle Inn for our next issue of “The Monthly Spread“, with an amazing lineup with Matt Hooper, Narwhals, Jessica Dives, Madeline Thorp, Jack Hamilton and michael webster – 7pm start, and only a fiver in! 🗞️

on the Saturday 12th we’re hosting the album release show at the Eagle Inn for Abi Til, a stellar one in store for us with a full headline set from Abi alongside the Underground Folk Collective, and support from St Cloud and Fionnuala Bradbury – we can’t wait for this, it’s going to be a special night 🌙

then we’re back on over at the Eagle Inn for a final time this month on the Thursday 19th, for our next “BAKED” band night – more information to come this week, but we’ve got a fantastic lineup shaping up for us! we’ll be starting up at 7:30pm and it’s sure to be a mega one 🥪

plus, with all of our open mic nights at Rewind NQ, Flour & Flagon, Grafton Arms and Peaky Blinders Manchester – there’s plenty to get yourself involved with, just get in touch with our michael webster to perform! 🎤

and finally gigs for our michael webster and Narwhals at “The Monthly Spread“, and Scatterchild are performing at Sidney & Matilda on the Thursday 17th April, in aid of the Team Ted Foundation! we can’t wait for it all 🍞

today’s Just The Crust feature is the brand new single “Not Quite There Yet” from Nat Dempsey! 🎶

we’re huge fans of Nat, with his effortless, down-to-earth and relatable songwriting talent, and his ability to create a standout melody that will stick in your head – his last single “Everyday People” was an incredible show of his ability, and he’s just dropped his second single 🙌

this new single takes a bit more of a mellow and atmospheric approach, compared to his last single, with the same jangley indie-pop sound building through the verses, with a lovely chorus-ey guitar tone, playing a lovely laid-back and flowing melody, and his vocal taking command and ensuring the listener’s attention on his storytelling, with carefully-crafted, personal and picturesque lyrics, and a lovely foundation of a driving bass and tight drums that really glue the track together. it’s a fantastic listen, and a brilliant indication of his talent 🌙
