our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Katie O’Malley “Karma”
we’re huge fans of Katie’s music, having covered it a bunch in the past and caught her live so many times, such a great songwriter with a real unique sound that she’s really made her own.
this new single perfectly encapsulates her style and how she’s developed it throughout her musical career, with hard-hitting rhythm, jolty and gorgeous guitar licks throughout that only provide a gorgeous backdrop to her unique and commanding vocal capabilities – always taking centre stage and making the listener hang onto every word. this tune gives a more rock and roll, almost punky feel to her music. with a real direct and blunt energetic atmosphere to it, it’s a gorgeous track that shows another side of Katie’s songwriting; less ethereal and dreamy, more stepping into the limelight and saying what’s on her mind. followed up with a gorgeous guitar solo, it’s a brilliantly crafted song where you’re digesting every word, every note and figuring out the brilliance that’s in the chemistry of Katie and her band.
today marks the 1 year anniversary of our first release with Narwhals “3310 & A Pterosaur“!
we’re proper made up to have these guys on the label, they’ve got some incredible tunes behind them, and a lovely bunch. this single is gorgeous, dedicated to the memory of an old friend of the band – beautiful lyricism and atmosphere behind this song.

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Luc Garrett and Katie Elizaa “Someone I Don’t Know“!
we’ve been huge fans of both of these guys for a while now, they’ve got some incredible tunes already behind them as individual artists and to see them come together on a track like this is brilliant to see
the track takes from the best of both of their individual styles, starting off super delicate and intricate, really emphasising the lyricism and melody of the track – the guitar riff is beautiful and it’s matched perfectly with Luc’s soft vocal gliding over the top of it. as the track flows, the piano comes in and only accentuates the precision put into this track – plus, Katie’s vocal on the second verse is a gorgeous contrast to Luc’s first verse, and as they harmonise with one another it puts the perfect finish to the tune. we loved listening to this and it’s a real gorgeous tune, well worth a listen.
