our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Sister Sister “I Was Waiting Such A Long Time“! π€
after a bunch of incredible releases over the past few years, and having had performed across the North West a bunch they’ve just released their latest single, a lovely dreamy and atmospheric tune πΆ
this is their first release in two years, following their second album – it’s opens up with a luscious guitar line, laden over a relaxed and mellow foundation of rhythm – and the vocal comes in so smoothly, complimented so well by the instrumentation, and given so much space to flow through each line π the track builds so well, a lovely soundscape throughout and there’s so many dreamy atmospheric elements that come together to create something truly wonderful – a fantastic listen, expertly put together! π
our feature for this week’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Sea of Sorrow” from the ever-incredible Luna Marble π
we’ve had them perform for us a bunch now, and they always astound us with their high-energy performances, quality musicianship, amazing band chemistry and insane stage presence – they know exactly how to entertain a crowd π
we loved their previous releases, and this new tune only exceeds our expectations; a more atmospheric intro compared to their previous tracks, but with a gorgeous groove setting the scene, with Maria’s vocals gracefully taking control of the soundscape – and the drop into the guitar riff is absolutely lush.. a fantastic riff that commands your attention immediately. the balance of the vocal and the guitar is so lovely, complimenting each other perfectly throughout – and set to a really tight rhythm section that just completes the sound perfectly. π₯ another incredible tune under their belt!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Getner “White Walls“! πΆ
having been a strong presence on the Manchester scene for a while now, with shows at Manchester Academy, Rose & Monkey and more – they’ve established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, and their debut single only proves this even further. π
with high-octane, energetic ferocity throughout the whole track, and lead singer Quentin commanding the space with his powerful yet dynamic, intimate at times, vocals – lending the listener to hang onto his every word. there’s a real influence of blues in their music, but matched with no-nonsense rock and roll, they’ve truly created something that is unique yet so familiar and enticing to anyone who listens to their music. well worth a listen! π§
Manchester’s own Luna Marble have returned with their brand new single “Mad World” π« we were huge fans of their previous singles “Running” and “All of my Love“, really cementing them as ones to watch in the North West with their huge 70’s inspired sound, massive guitar riffs and a gorgeous chemistry connecting the band to really bring out the best of their music. We had them perform for us back last year at the Grafton Arms as part of our “Toasted” event and they were sensational, their stage presence and musicianship was super inspiring – a fantastic band and ones not to miss out on.
This new single sees them take a step back from their signature energetic sound that oozes from their earlier releases, and go down a more psychedelic and relaxed path – but still maintaining their groove and anthemic atmosphere. π€ starting out with an ethereal piano line, laced with cymbal-work and a gorgeous guitar melody, it sets the stage for the feel of the track right from the beginning. Maria’s vocals glide effortlessly above the instrumentation, enchanting the listener with her viscous and delicate tone. The rhythm works perfectly in unison here, with the bass and drums giving the track a lovely flow that is a perfect fit to the feel of the tune – holding it together superbly.
Traversing into the chorus, the track shows reflections of Luna Marble’s signature sound, with a dream-like, anthemic hook; showing off Maria’s incredible vocal capability, the track opening up to a real stadium rock atmosphere, reminiscent of 70’s classic rock acts. The guitar solo is absolutely stunning, a perfectly balanced riff that only accentuates the feeling conveyed in the song, through Maria’s lyrics – powerful, and no-nonsense, describing the hardships she’s felt within the music industry as a woman performing in a very male-dominated genre. The final chorus really explodes in with all of the passion put into this track – it’s a fantastic release from these guys, we’re amazed by the quality that they’ve got on show here! π
