our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Crawling Distance” from The Empire Police! ๐ค
a familiar face on the North West scene, they’ve been making waves for a good few years now, having put out a bunch of incredible tunes, and performing all across the region and selling out shows on the regular in their Preston hometown ๐ถ
this new track sounds fantastic, blending their earlier indie-rock roots with more metal-infused, heavier elements that really paves the way for their anthemic, driving brand of alternative rock – with expert lyricism, they’re able to paint a picture with their lyrics, matched with instrumentation that compliments the wordcraft fantastically, the track ebbs and flows and truly feels like a journey with the band. it’s a brilliant listen! ๐
we’re excited to announce that Scatterchild is a recipient of the GMCA Inspire Fund, with the grant going towards the costs of his second album! โ๏ธ
watch this space for new music. excited for you all to hear what we’ve got coming up ๐
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Summer Soul” from Sura Laynes! ๐
the Derbyshire-based outfit have been making a real name for themselves over the past few years, having released a string of fantastic singles, and performing across the East Midlands and even taking to the stage at Y Not Festival in a few weeks! โ๏ธ
we’ve covered their music a few times in the past, and we’re huge fans of their upbeat, down-to-earth folky sound, and this new single is no different – with a real gritty texture from the get-go, it’s got relatable, grounded lyricism, and you can hear the musicianship within the band, how well they gel together and that they’re truly creating something unique to themselves. this track has a real catchy hook, a proper singalong anthem – it’s a great listen and another lovely tune under their belts! ๐
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Got To Lose” by Burnley-based indie outfit The Stride! ๐
following the release of their single “Hold On” last year, the band have gone from strength to strength, performing across the North West and beyond, taking their indie rock tunes with them and astounding audiences – reminiscent of 90’s Manchester vibes ๐ฅ
this new single opens up with a nostalgic guitar progression, backed with a real tight rhythm section that holds it together, giving plenty of room for the lead guitar melody to flow over the top – and the main vocal takes command immediately, it’s a real indie anthemic vibe to it with a singalong chorus and with a proper stadium rock feel ๐
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the explosive new single “P.O.S” from Tay Temple! ๐ฅ
we’ve known Tay for a good long time now, and we’re always blown away by her music and her drive – she’s got so many bangers under her belt and this is yet another incredible track. there’s a headline show on the 12th of September which we can’t wait for – tickets at https://www.fatsoma.com/e/p2g8wbed/vortex-presents-tay-temple ๐
this single “P.O.S” sounds incredible, her in-your-face, no-nonsense attitude is present throughout the tune, and right from the get-go, Tay’s vocal immediately grips the listener’s attention, with direct lyricism and driving guitars punching through. as the track opens up, the drums and bassline lay a strong foundation for the tune, perfectly complimenting the guitar riffs and ensuring Tay’s powerful vocals and straight-talking lyrics take centre stage ๐ a real angry anthem for the modern age!
you can listen to the new single on all streaming platforms, and there’s a lyric visualiser available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9r3T2Si1us – well worth checking out ๐ถ
