Just The Crust 02/02/26: Glacmanis – Songs For A Chase Sequence 👊

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new EP from GlacmanisSongs From A Chase Sequence” 🎵

we’ve known these guys for a good while, having had them perform for us a bunch and writing up reviews of their past releases – we love their laid-back and lo-fi sound, such a great atmosphere to their tunes 👊

this new EP continues with that sound, opening with a driving, lo-fi track that feels like it should be in a racing soundtrack. their use of dynamic and instrumentation within their music ensures that every line is exciting, and unfolds throughout the flow of each and every tune. they’ve got singalong hooks, a beautiful use of synths, guitar melodies and driving rhythm forming the foundation of their tracks – it’s a great listen start to finish 💥

you can find the EP on all streaming platforms, and you can purchase a digital copy for yourself over on Bandcamp at https://glacmanis.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-a-chase-sequence 🎧

The Wrap: December 2025 🌮

we’ve got our next edition of The Wrap feature for you! 🤝

we’ve wrote up some reviews of some incredible releases from December – another fantastic month of music on the scene! you can check out all of our reviews below ⬇️

A familiar face for us here in Manchester, Tommy Cei has just released his debut single “I Roam“! We’ve heard this track live a bunch and this studio recording really encapsulates that live feel it has to it, the power and raw emotion that he channels into the tune. It’s real proof of his songwriting talent, his ability to convey emotion through his lyrics and create a catchy track – well worth a listen!

we had The Marras perform for us back last year at the Eagle Inn and we were blown away by their talent – their ability to write an energetic, driving track that has real lyrical depth and gorgeous melodies throughout, and this new single “Echoes” is proper evidence of that! it’s got a real groove behind it, luscious guitar tones and powerful vocals – it’s another fantastic tune under their belt.

we’ve covered Foxglove a bunch before, and we love their dream-pop sound – their new EP “Night Drive” only proves this even further! it’s got a gorgeous, sparkly sound to it, with lovely vocal melodies, soaring guitar tones and a formidable, powerful foundation of rhythm that really creates a huge soundscape for each of the tracks. well worth checking out – our favourite from the EP is “Busy Beach“, such a groove behind it!

we’ve got Beth Jackson performing for us at our next The Monthly Spread show, and we can’t wait – this new single “Weatherman” is absolutely fantastic. with down-to-earth, tongue-in-cheek lyricism there’s a real sense of relatability to the songwriting, it’s got a folk-punky feel to the track, and the instrumentation on the track gives it a real groove and flow to it all. such a great tune!

another familiar face on the Manchester scene, Jimmy Page XI has returned with his new single “Bringing Me Back“! it opens with a lovely acoustic guitar progression, and the drop into the full band is exquisite. with introspective lyricism, his songwriting here is great – and the instrumentation behind him really compliments his songwriting style. it’s a great track and we can’t wait to hear even more!

Manchester-based alternative-rock outfit Boxfires released their new single “Twelve Long Years“! it’s thrashy, energetic and punky – there’s a proper drive behind the track that gives it that heavy ferocity. the vocals command the listener’s attention, matched by the drive of the rhythm pushing the track along, and it’s got a proper lovely guitar solo that tops it all off nicely.

Manchester/London-based songwriter Liv Cartier has just put out the new single “i don’t want you i just can’t be alone” – following the release of her previous two tracks in 2025. it’s got a dreamy atmosphere to it, almost moody in the verses but expertly contrasting in the choruses to really show that dynamic, which expertly compliments her vocal talent here, and her raw and personal lyricism really paints a story, proving her as one to watch for the future!

a real favourite of ours here in Manchester, Run Remedy just put out a live rendition of “Tribulation” with Big Society! her ability to create a gorgeous track is unmatched, there’s always a real sense of purpose and commitment to creativity within her music. the atmosphere of the track is superb, such a dreamy track, which perfectly balances to and compliments her vocals, and her ability to convey a story through songwriting is second to none.

it’s been yet another fantastic month, with so many amazing songs coming out; plus, so many that we didn’t cover – thanks to everyone who has checked this out, and we hope you enjoyed it! 🤘
