last Thursday down at the Eagle Inn for our fourth edition of “The Monthly Spread” was such a special one

we had a superb turnout, especially for the cold start of the year – a huge thank you to everyone who came down and for being so attentive during everyone’s sets! we love to see it. big love to our fantastic acts Underground Folk Collective Wanda Roslyn Fionnuala Bradbury Toenails Isabel Williamson Music michael webster who were all incredible!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Mesmerised” by Sandy Kilpatrick 🎶

the Scottish songwriter has had a prolific year, releasing two strong singles here and performing across various countries – and this new song sounds absolutely gorgeous! 🌙

the track opens up with a luscious droney atmosphere, painting a perfect backdrop for his vocal to take centre stage, and his husky yet soft voice ensures the listener is hanging onto every word. Kilpatrick’s lyrical capability is on full display here, truly weaving a tale with image-inducing wordcraft, down to earth and headstrong writing – and the vocal harmonies, the pianowork and acoustic guitar all working in unison to truly create something that’s a joy to listen to. 👊
