the Birmingham-based emo outfit have been taking the scene by storm recently, having a strong discography under their belt already and performing across England at various prestigious venues! πŸ‘Š we reviewed their previous single last year and couldn’t wait to hear this!

this new EP sounds fantastic, chock-full of luscious guitar riffs, energetic and powerful rhythm and fierce and commanding vocals from the lead singer, really showing their desire to make music for themselves. there’s a real 2000’s throwback mixed into the tunes, along with other inspirations that ensure Vienna are ones to watch on the upcoming scene! the tracks are energetic and exciting, yet at the same time intimate and well-crafted – it’s a fantastic listen and one to check out for any fans of emo / punk music! 🎢

Just The Crust 21/04/25: Harrison Rimmer – Cheaper Than Therapy πŸ‘Š

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new sophomore album “Cheaper Than Therapy” from Harrison Rimmer! πŸ’₯

we’re massive fans of Harrison’s music, we’ve known him for a long long while now, covered a bunch of his music and had him perform for us loads! we were there at his debut album launch a few years ago, and we’ve been proper looking forward to this new one 🀝

you can really see his progress within the tracks on this album, his already-expert lyricism being refined and portraying more emotion, more stories from his life, and delivered in an excellent manner, both in the songwriting sense and through his musical ability – matched with quality guitar patterns and riffs that really compliment his vocals and lyrics. the full band also breathe even more life into these tracks, you can really feel the chemistry between all of them who are involved; each track feels full of energy and with a true sense of purpose and belonging upon the album. πŸ’Ώ some of our favourites are “Shores“, “Be Reet” and the re-release of an old favourite “Ripped Up Magazine” – Harrison’s ability to capture a listener’s attention and put his raw emotion and feeling out there is second to none. πŸ™Œ

the album is available to stream on all platforms, and you can buy a physical CD from his Bandcamp at https://harrisonrimmer1.bandcamp.com/album/cheaper-than-therapy 🎧

this new single “The Spark” sounds incredible, a real testament to his musical ability – opening up with a luscious soundscape, with a gorgeous atmosphere, the instrumentation working in perfect unison to give so much space for Kilpatrick’s silky vocal to take command – and his down-to-earth and relatable lyrics capturing the attention, a tale of romance and attraction. the track flows so well, almost dream-like, and it’s a proper show of the quality production and musicality put into this tune. well worth a listen! 😊

the Midlands-based three-piece have a strong bunch of albums and singles under their belt already, with anthemic, punchy and raw tunes, and they’ve put out a proper belter with this new tune – ensuring themselves as ones to keep an eye out for! 🎢

this new track “Get Over It” opens up with a real in-your-face guitar riff, pounding drums and droney vocals, that create a moody and dark atmosphere behind the track – and the explosion into the chorus is huge, whilst the breakdown in the middle of the tune gives a real sense of breathing space, only to open up right back into the huge sound that they’ve cultivated. with a real driving feel behind the track, you can hear a vast variety of influences from different genres, and they’ve really brought them all together to create something truly unique to themselves. a must-listen for any fans of heavier tunes πŸ‘Š

we’re huge fans of Nat, with his effortless, down-to-earth and relatable songwriting talent, and his ability to create a standout melody that will stick in your head – his last single “Everyday People” was an incredible show of his ability, and he’s just dropped his second single πŸ™Œ

this new single takes a bit more of a mellow and atmospheric approach, compared to his last single, with the same jangley indie-pop sound building through the verses, with a lovely chorus-ey guitar tone, playing a lovely laid-back and flowing melody, and his vocal taking command and ensuring the listener’s attention on his storytelling, with carefully-crafted, personal and picturesque lyrics, and a lovely foundation of a driving bass and tight drums that really glue the track together. it’s a fantastic listen, and a brilliant indication of his talent πŸŒ™

this new single “Falling” sounds mega, a more upbeat 60’s rock influence to the track, and it’s got a superb rhythm to it right from the get-go, and with a jangly guitar pattern, lovely vocal harmonies and his simple yet effective lyricism, you can hear the feel-good elements to the track immediately. his vocal takes centre-stage and ensures the listener’s attention, and it’s got a lovely bassline that compliments the drumwork, creating a great space for the foundation of the track. it’s a proper great listen, and well worth checking out! 🀝
