our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Sixth DayDown and Out“! πŸ’₯

after two fantastic singles last year, and having played a bunch of sold-out shows across the North West, they’ve been making their mark as ones to watch on the scene – this new single is true evidence of their talent and potential. πŸ‘Š

it’s opens with a raucous guitar line, that is only emboldened by Alex’s powerful vocal commanding the listener’s attention – followed by a driving rhythm that gives the track a real ferocious energy. the chorus is explosive, opening up the feel of the tune superbly, a real singalong tune, reminiscent of 2000’s alternative, yet executed in a unique manner! it’s a proper banger, well worth a listen! 🎧

we’ve covered Lynskey a bunch in the past, they released their last EP early last year and we loved it, a fantastic amalgamation of different influences, various genres thrown in their to truly create a sound that is unique to them – high energy, intricate melodies throughout; fantastic to listen to πŸ‘Š

this new tune is an ode to Keanu Reeves, opening right up from the get-go with a bang – a grooving drumbeat sets the pace while explosive guitar power chords form the basis of the track, with plenty of space for B’s vocal to take centre-stage, their vocal commanding the listener’s attention. there’s a whole bunch of lovely little riffs throughout, little breakdowns and synth lines that only accentuate the craft within the tune – it’s sure to get anyone dancing along! β˜€οΈ

after performing at various venues across the UK over the past few years, and releasing a run of singles and EPs since 2016, they’re back with a brand new track that packs a punch right from the get-go! πŸ’«

you can really hear the grunge, the riot-grrrl influence throughout this track – with luscious power chords, basslines and hard-hitting drums laying the foundation for the track, a main guitar riff that echoes throughout, adding tension and drive to the tune, and group vocals, harmonies that give a real energy to it all. it sounds fantastic, and with personal, impactful lyricism, it’s set them up as ones to watch for the year 🌜

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Harrison RimmerTough Love“! 🀝

we’ve known Harrison for a long long time now and we love all of his tunes, his album “Larkholme” last year was sensational and it’s so great to hear a new tune from him! also – he’s one of our favourite live musicians, if you get the chance to see him don’t miss out πŸ‘Š

this new single sounds fantastic, taking a more alternative-rock style compared to his previous tunes, with a grungey guitar lacing the atmosphere of the track – and a hard hitting drumbeat and bassline laying the foundation beautifully, for Harrison to take centre-stage with a personal and passionate story. it’s a lovely track, with a real emotion and feeling poured into it, exactly what we’ve come to expect with Harrison’s music πŸŒ™

Just The Crust 15/07/24: Vienna – Ratatouille! I hardly know her… β˜€οΈ

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Midlands-based emo outfit Vienna, “Ratatouille! I hardly know her…” out this Friday! πŸ’₯

their third single, it follows the success of their first two, which established them as ones to watch on the Midlands scene, and having garnered a bunch of attention with these releases, alongside a load of live performances, they’re back with a belter πŸ‘Š

this new single sounds fantastic, expanding excellently on the mid-west stylings of their earlier work, with a more direct and polished shine to the sound of the track – the guitarwork in the introduction is luscious, with some gorgeous melodies in there, and it expands out into the main riff of the track with a ferocious energy; it really proves the energy and passion put into this track. πŸŒ™ the guitar tones sound mega throughout, and the rhythm section perfectly compliment them, giving the main vocal ample room to command the listener’s attention with a direct and powerful force, ensuring the audience hang onto every word of theirs, with great lyrical storytelling, you can tell that there’s real passion put into every sentence – an incredible listen! 🎧

Just The Crust 08/07/24: Mad By Mourning – Black Car πŸ‘Š

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Mad By MourningBlack Car“! πŸ‘Š

we covered their previous single last year, “Creature Of Habit“, and we were astounded by their gothic, industrial sound – yet infusing a range of various influences, to truly create something that they can call their own – you can hear punk, metal, emo and chock-full of lyrical ingenuity, catchy hooks; it truly set them as ones to watch! 😊

this new single begins in a more moody, darker vein compared to the previous, with a riff heavy, distorted atmosphere in the opening stage – it gives a load of room for the main vocal to take command in the first verse, demanding the listener’s attention – utilising the soundscape effectively, and with a fantastic, catchy and lyrically adept chorus – they’ve only gone beyond our expectations for this one. the grunginess and heaviness of the track is perfectly balanced with the more atmospheric elements of it, a lovely use of dynamic and contrast – fantastic to see, well worth a listen!! 🎧 (also with a luscious guitar solo too!)

you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a visualiser available to watch on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYhj11V7-g0 – check it out! πŸŒ™
