our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Forever” by HealeyBadger! 🙌
we’ve had HealeyBadger perform for us a good few times now at our open mics, and we’re always blown away by their professional performances, their quality songwriting talent and excellent musicianship – it’s not hard to see why they’ve been going down a storm across the North West and beyond at their gigs 🎶
this new single sounds incredible, with a real jazzy element right from the get-go, a lovely feel good atmosphere with the rhythm sections in perfect sync, creating a fantastic soundscape, and a brilliant backdrop for the lead vocal to take charge – Di’s vocals sound amazing here, and her delivery is top-notch; really outpouring the emotion and feelings to make this track one to remember. the backing of the bass and drums give the track a real sense of groove, accentuating the silky pianowork – it’s a super lovely listen 🎧

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Such A Long Time” from Kyle Toolan! 🎶
we’ve known Kyle for a good while now, having had him perform at our open mics, gigs and the such over the last few years, and we’re massive fans of his music – intricately-written tracks, with a real passion put into each of them, and his drive and motivation to create is always inspiring 🙌
this new single sounds fantastic, with having listened to his previous tracks a bunch we knew we were in for something special but it sounds even better than we expected! his lyricism here is on-point, raw and personal emotion poured into every line, guitar melodies that compliment his vocal lines expertly, and a full band backing sound to give it a real sense of groove – it’s a superb listen! it gives us vibes of 90’s alternative rock bands, yet mixed in with a 70’s mellow songwriter style; giving that nostalgic feel yet still modern and unique to himself. 👊

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Clear Cut” from Tallulah Guard! 🙌
it’s safe to say we’re huge fans of Tallulah’s music, having had them perform for us a bunch over the past few years and covering a load of their previous tracks, all of which are incredible 👊
this new single proves that Tallulah’s releases can only get better and better, getting into it right from the get-go with a full band sound, with crisp production and a real driving groove to it – opening up for their vocal to take centre-stage on the first verse. Tallulah’s lyricism is direct, raw and honest – a real down-to-earth sense to their writing, and this track not only feels like a real insight into their feelings, but written with expert prose and poetic ability. with anthemic choruses, a real 90’s alternative reminiscence present yet a modern, unique atmosphere, they’ve put out an incredible track that not only speaks to the modern society of today, but directly challenges the status quo in a expertly crafted manner. 🤝
you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a music video available to watch on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHY5oS79UP – well worth checking out! 🎥

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Smalltown Love Song” from Sura Laynes! 👊
the Derby-based indie rock band have put out a strong collection of singles already, and with having performed a whole bunch of gigs in the local area, they’ve really made their mark on the scene as ones to watch 🤘
this new single sounds fantastic, there’s echoes of various influence in it, ranging from Jesus and The Mary Chain, to more anthemic indie rock acts like Oasis, and there’s a lovely groove behind the track, a moody backdrop that sets the tone for Walsh’s vocals to really take command of the tune. the drums and bass create a luscious atmosphere, and the droney guitarwork gives us a real 90’s alternative feel, and the lyrics paint an incredible portrait of love and romance – it’s a brilliant listen! 🎧
