our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Such A Long Time” from Kyle Toolan! πΆ
we’ve known Kyle for a good while now, having had him perform at our open mics, gigs and the such over the last few years, and we’re massive fans of his music – intricately-written tracks, with a real passion put into each of them, and his drive and motivation to create is always inspiring π
this new single sounds fantastic, with having listened to his previous tracks a bunch we knew we were in for something special but it sounds even better than we expected! his lyricism here is on-point, raw and personal emotion poured into every line, guitar melodies that compliment his vocal lines expertly, and a full band backing sound to give it a real sense of groove – it’s a superb listen! it gives us vibes of 90’s alternative rock bands, yet mixed in with a 70’s mellow songwriter style; giving that nostalgic feel yet still modern and unique to himself. π
we’ve had some incredible nights down at the Eagle Inn over the past few months for our “The Monthly Spread” shows ποΈ

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Clear Cut” from Tallulah Guard! π
it’s safe to say we’re huge fans of Tallulah’s music, having had them perform for us a bunch over the past few years and covering a load of their previous tracks, all of which are incredible π
this new single proves that Tallulah’s releases can only get better and better, getting into it right from the get-go with a full band sound, with crisp production and a real driving groove to it – opening up for their vocal to take centre-stage on the first verse. Tallulah’s lyricism is direct, raw and honest – a real down-to-earth sense to their writing, and this track not only feels like a real insight into their feelings, but written with expert prose and poetic ability. with anthemic choruses, a real 90’s alternative reminiscence present yet a modern, unique atmosphere, they’ve put out an incredible track that not only speaks to the modern society of today, but directly challenges the status quo in a expertly crafted manner. π€
you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a music video available to watch on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHY5oS79UP – well worth checking out! π₯

the Derby-based indie rock band have put out a strong collection of singles already, and with having performed a whole bunch of gigs in the local area, they’ve really made their mark on the scene as ones to watch π€
this new single sounds fantastic, there’s echoes of various influence in it, ranging from Jesus and The Mary Chain, to more anthemic indie rock acts like Oasis, and there’s a lovely groove behind the track, a moody backdrop that sets the tone for Walsh’s vocals to really take command of the tune. the drums and bass create a luscious atmosphere, and the droney guitarwork gives us a real 90’s alternative feel, and the lyrics paint an incredible portrait of love and romance – it’s a brilliant listen! π§

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new debut single “Shoot The Cameras” by Frank & The Beats π
we’ve known Frank for a good while now, having been performing across Manchester at our open mics, and we’ve popped him on a few solo sets – he’s got a band together now, and we were honoured to have him perform with them at our last “BAKED” band night, they were class π
this new single sound lovely, with a lovely ringing acoustic guitar forming the basis of the track, driving rhythm with the bass and drums enhancing the foundation, and lovely guitar riffs throughout the track echoing Frank’s commanding and strong vocal – a great folk-rock tune. the lyricism is on-point, with introspective and thoughtful commentary, proving his ability as a songwriter πΈ

the Manchester-based songwriter has been performing across the city for a good while now, making a mark with his delicate, intricately-woven songs, with expert storytelling present throughout each of his tracks
this new single sounds mega, and is true evidence of his talent – his lyricism is class in this track, really painting a story with his words, and the song has a quiet, yet fierce energy behind it; it’s got a real heartfelt and personal feel to it, the build of the structure works excellently, opening up throughout the flow of the song, to a lovely full band sound – it’s a fantastic tune and what a debut!
