our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new debut single “Shoot The Cameras” by Frank & The Beats ๐
we’ve known Frank for a good while now, having been performing across Manchester at our open mics, and we’ve popped him on a few solo sets – he’s got a band together now, and we were honoured to have him perform with them at our last “BAKED” band night, they were class ๐
this new single sound lovely, with a lovely ringing acoustic guitar forming the basis of the track, driving rhythm with the bass and drums enhancing the foundation, and lovely guitar riffs throughout the track echoing Frank’s commanding and strong vocal – a great folk-rock tune. the lyricism is on-point, with introspective and thoughtful commentary, proving his ability as a songwriter ๐ธ
this week we’ve been celebrating two of our releases with Narwhals
today was the three year anniversary of our first track with them on the label, “3310 & A Pterosaur“, such a fantastic tune and an incredible indication of their songwriting ability and musicianship
and on Sunday was the one year anniversary of the second to last track we put out with them, “Unstitched” with Thฤ one of our favourites, such a raw track and a fantastic listen!
you can find the tracks on all streaming platforms, and you can purchase them to keep a digital copy for yourself at https://narwhalsuk.bandcamp.com/
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new debut single “Twenty-Two” from Tyler Devine!
the Manchester-based songwriter has been performing across the city for a good while now, making a mark with his delicate, intricately-woven songs, with expert storytelling present throughout each of his tracks
this new single sounds mega, and is true evidence of his talent – his lyricism is class in this track, really painting a story with his words, and the song has a quiet, yet fierce energy behind it; it’s got a real heartfelt and personal feel to it, the build of the structure works excellently, opening up throughout the flow of the song, to a lovely full band sound – it’s a fantastic tune and what a debut!
we’re so blown away by all the support you all have been showing for the new Eyam single “Jenny” which came out two weeks ago today!
already at 3,300 streams on Spotify alone, it’s fantastic to see such support for the track and so well-deserved for Eyam, such a talented songwriter, musician and creative. we had a lot of fun working on this track and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Toenails – an acoustic version of “The Party“! ๐
we’ve been huge fans of him for a good while now, having covered his music a bunch on our reviews, having had him play a load of gigs for us; safe to say we’re real fans of his tunes. ๐
the original version of this track was sublime, and this new acoustic variant sounds incredible! the intimate nature of it really does justice to his lyrical capabilities, and creates a gorgeous atmosphere within the track. it feels like a conversation, a heartfelt chat with Toenails – with a lovely guitar melody setting the backdrop, and his delicate delivery of the lyrics really setting the mood. a fantastic listen, as we’ve come to expect with all of his tracks ๐ค
