our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Melody Unknown” from The Late Freddie Price ๐
we’ve known Freddie for a good while now, having had him perform at our open mics across Manchester, and he’s been playing gigs in and around the city for a good while now – making a mark with his introspective, folk-indie inspired music ๐ถ
this new single sounds mega, a lovely 60’s throwback with a real Dylan-esque atmosphere – his lyricism is descriptive, image-inducing and powerful ๐ค with a lovely backdrop of rhythm laying the base of the tune, and a gorgeous guitar pattern lacing the atmosphere, it’s got a real groove and style to it; and with a catchy hook that is sincere and direct, it’s a really powerful indication of his talent. ๐
you can find the track on all streaming platforms, and there’s a full music video available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp7j4w3DdQ0 – well worth checking out! ๐ฅ

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Ramellos, “Heedless Hearts“! ๐
this is their debut offering, it’s a fantastic tune, sounding superb – they’ve had a bunch of shows up in the North East and this tune proper shows off their talent. it’s a lovely indie-rock banger, with intricate and raw lyricism, there’s an incredible flow to the track, with a luscious long extended intro, that drops into the main chorus expertly, and then only becomes bigger and bigger throughout the song, a real lovely progression within it ๐
with the drums and bass providing a gorgeous backdrop, and the guitar laying down a luscious melody, lead riffs circling the soundscape, there’s plenty of space for the vocal to take charge and ensure the listener’s attention – a fantastic debut from the band! ๐ค
there’s only two weeks til the debut single “Jenny” from Eyam comes out!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Mesmerised” by Sandy Kilpatrick ๐ถ
the Scottish songwriter has had a prolific year, releasing two strong singles here and performing across various countries – and this new song sounds absolutely gorgeous! ๐
the track opens up with a luscious droney atmosphere, painting a perfect backdrop for his vocal to take centre stage, and his husky yet soft voice ensures the listener is hanging onto every word. Kilpatrick’s lyrical capability is on full display here, truly weaving a tale with image-inducing wordcraft, down to earth and headstrong writing – and the vocal harmonies, the pianowork and acoustic guitar all working in unison to truly create something that’s a joy to listen to. ๐
