we’ve covered Hospital Radio’s music a bunch in the past, having reviewed their previous single “L.A“, had them play a few gigs for us here in Manchester over the past year or two and they’ve teamed up with fellow North West-based emo outfit When Suddenly for this split EP 👊

the EP is full of dreamy textures, melodic guitar riffs and driving rhythm sections, blending a range of sounds together to create real authentic, powerful and emotive tracks – the two bands are able to convey real feeling through their music, which perfectly compliments their lyrical ability, with raw and honest songwriting throughout – the collaboration between the bands lends itself to create an EP that flows superbly throughout the entirety 🌠

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “Turn To Crime” from Superfriends 🎶

we covered their previous EP “Superfriends Are Online” back in 2023, and we loved their energetic, infectious energy present within every track, and they’ve managed to translate and expand upon their signature sound effortlessly with this new release 🔈

the track opens with an upbeat and driving guitar melody, that really sets the scene for the track, yet with the energetic and jangly tone there’s a real contrast lyrically, with a stark and dark look at modern society. the track’s main hook “can I turn to crime, cause I want out of this sucker’s life” reflects a bleak outlook of the current situation, yet their ability to convey that anger and distress into a hopeful and positive energy is real proof of their musical talent. it’s a fantastic listen and we can’t wait to hear what else they have in store! 👊

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single “L.A.” from Hospital Radio.! 🎶

the Manchester-based midwest-emo outfit have been on the scene for a good while now, and they released their debut single earlier last year – a great first tune for them! 👊

this new single “L.A.” follows on from the success of their debut, and with signature melodic guitar riffs, powerful and driving rhythm, accompanied by expert lyricism and fierce vocal delivery, it’s a real banger – their use of dynamic within their music compliments the songwriting style superbly, giving a real sense of flow to the track. it’s a great listen and a must for any fans of alternative indie/emo 🌙

the Sheffield-based emo trio have been performing a bunch over the past few months, making a real name for themselves on the scene, and putting out a run of fantastic singles in the meantime! 👊

this EP sounds fantastic, right from the get-go it’s full of lovely guitar riffs, gorgeous melodies that compliment the vocal expertly, and hard-hitting, driving rhythm that gives the EP a real energy behind it. the lyricism is great, their ability to paint a picture effortlessly with their songwriting is second to none. there’s so much dynamic in the tracks, building expertly and utilising breakdowns and structure to really create a run of tracks that you’ll listen to over and over 🎶

the Sheffield alt-rock outfit have been performing since 2023, and with a bunch of incredible releases already under their belt, having performed a bunch across the North at various prestigious venues, they’ve been making a name for themselves as ones to watch 🌙

this EP sounds fantastic, it’s got an incredible atmosphere flowing throughout each of the tracks, and with catchy, singalong hooks, expert songwriting and gorgeous guitar melodies and patterns ever-present in their music, they’ve crafted a lovely EP that sets themselves apart as a must-listen for any fans of alternative / mid-western inspired music. their music feels personal, and intimate, yet at the same time, have a real dynamic throughout, ranging from folky intricacy to driving grungey riffs – a brilliant listen! 🎶
