Just The Crust 12/08/24: Lynskey – Keanu 👊

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from LynskeyKeanu“! 🎶

we’ve covered Lynskey a bunch in the past, they released their last EP early last year and we loved it, a fantastic amalgamation of different influences, various genres thrown in their to truly create a sound that is unique to them – high energy, intricate melodies throughout; fantastic to listen to 👊

this new tune is an ode to Keanu Reeves, opening right up from the get-go with a bang – a grooving drumbeat sets the pace while explosive guitar power chords form the basis of the track, with plenty of space for B’s vocal to take centre-stage, their vocal commanding the listener’s attention. there’s a whole bunch of lovely little riffs throughout, little breakdowns and synth lines that only accentuate the craft within the tune – it’s sure to get anyone dancing along! ☀️

you can find the track on all streaming services, and there’s a music video on YouTube at https://youtu.be/Y_l2j7ctK6c – they’re also doing a gig at Kazimier Stockroom In Liverpool on the 2nd September – you can get tickets at https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Liverpool/Kazimier-Stockroom/Lynskey-host-Keanu-Reeves-Birthday-Party-at-Kazimier-Stockroom/39174358/ 🤘

Just The Crust 28/11/22: Lynskey – kinda tastes like iron ⚡️

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Lynskey – “kinda tastes like iron🤘

following the release of their debut EP last year, “Sales and Lettings“, they’ve returned with this new single, expanding out on their sound with bigger riffs, a huge energy behind their music and synthesisers to really create a push and groove behind them to create their unique “dance-punk” energy!

opening up the track with a near-metal expression, with riffs and power chords enveloping the atmosphere of the track, it flows through the first verse superbly, and with the pre-chorus giving a touch of fresh air – it then opens up into an energetic, chaotic chorus which gives a beautiful parallel direction to the rest of the track. this theme is echoed throughout the entire song, flowing in so many different directions yet still being expertly steered by the band, who are in control all the way through. 🤘 the use of synths really compliment their sound, and the dynamic of the vocal sounds fantastic in addition to it all!

you can find the single over on all streaming sites, or find the full video over on YouTube at https://youtu.be/V381IpT_qT0 – well worth checking out! 😎
