our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Elizabeth Owens, “Receiver”!

blending atmospheric sounds, with lovely synths, and vocal stylings similar to that of Kate Bush, Caroline Polachek, Eli has really created a truly unique sound for themselves – we absolutely love what they are doing and all of their songs are simply beautiful! the production work on this song is sublime and really entrances the listener in. super great!

this song is part of their up-coming album, “Knock Knock”, an album which is “told in three acts, the record explores themes of sobriety, ego deconstruction, and spiritual materialism” – how insane does this sound? we can not WAIT to hear it.

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the new single from Scatterchild “No Sense To End”!

taking a more laid-back approach compared to previous singles, Scatterchild have created a lovely relaxing atmosphere in which Jay’s vocal sits perfectly and really portrays the image of what he’s trying to say. building throughout the track, the instrumentation is really balanced well, and really creates a sound that you can get lost in. definitely one for those rainy Manchester evenings with a glass of wine!

fantastic stuff from Scatterchild – showing they are proficient across a variety of genres and really puts across their magnificent songwriting and performance abilities. lovely stuff! we can’t wait for the Saturday 7th August when they’re playing for us at The Thirsty Scholar for Cream of the Crop: THE RETURN!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the fantastic new single from Minervadaisy “Euphoria”!

Minerva is a Manchester-based songwriter and pianist who we’ve had play for us plenty of times now and she always blows us away with her heart-warming vocals, intricate piano melodies and amazing talent! she’s even playing our first event back Cream of the Crop: THE RETURN! on the Sat 7th August which will be top!

“Euphoria” follows on from Minerva’s last single and only proves her worth and talent as an artist even more it’s an uplifting ballad accompanied by beautiful piano lines and beautiful vocals – a lovely romantic tune that is perfect for a rainy day like today!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new ALBUM from Cold Water Swimmers “Holiday at the Secret Lake”!!

with an unmistakably Northern sound, the Manchester outfit have released some fantastic singles over the past year or two and are back now with their first full-length release! “Holiday at the Secret Lake” is chock-full of lovely tunes, reminiscent of 90s alternative indie mixed in with some lovely songwriting, and punkier elements which really give Cold Water Swimmers a unique yet familiar sound – definitely ones to watch here!!

must listens: Love is Insane / I’ll Be Your Witness – real brit-pop vibes with some top choruses you’ll be singing on your way home from the pub. the whole album as a whole is fantastic though – definitely worth listening to on this overcast Manchester Monday

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new tune from Rivver ‘Blue Lagoon’!

the Wigan four-piece return with yet another strong single, following on from their singles and EP last year – meshing indie rock with pop-jangly riffs, ‘Blue Lagoon’ really shows that Rivver are here to bring the summer vibes this year!

with a driving bassline controlling the track, unmistakably Northern vocals and a feel-good attitude throughout the track, there’s plenty to enjoy here as it erupts into the chorus with positivity and vibes that we’ve all been missing this last year. that guitar solo at the end and the building element of the track is class as well, super boss tune!

Granfalloon have been making waves across the whole of the North West over the past few years, releasing singles, albums and performing gigs and captivating audiences – even performing at Bluedot Festival!

“Who You Are” is the first single from his upcoming third album, a collaborative piece that sees Granfalloon have a positive spin on the past year or so. Blending folk, psychedelia and indie elements, the song has a truly unique sound to it which you can see has been crafted with care and attention from the avant-garde inspired artist.

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the first track from the new Anyone’s Ghost EP, “Nathan” we’re so amazed with the response to the songs so far and are absolutely made up that you guys are enjoying it!

we’re so proud of this EP. we worked with Wanda throughout 2020 to put this out, and from the get-go we kinda knew that it would be so beautiful. Wanda’s songwriting ability is simply insane, and with production from our michael webster we’ve managed to truly make something we’re all so proud of

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from DEAFDEAFDEAF “Odes”! 🤟

proper loving this tune, a real great one from the Manchester post-punk outfit. they’ve had some great responses to their earlier singles, and this one proves they’re in it to push the boundaries of their music and keep growing as a band (which, you gotta love to see.) 😊

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the absolutely lovely new single from Tay Temple, “What I Need”!

coming off the back of her previous release “Train”, Tay is back with another absolutely fantastic tune. She’s been working relentlessly over the past few months to get her music out there and we absolutely love this new song!

this tune is an anthem of self-worth, with such a positive message – a daring outcry that things will get better, and even with the lows, there’s bound to be highs to contrast. backed by her band, they add such life to the track, with lead guitar riffs that drive the track on and on, and a rhythm section that pushes the track forward with such intensity that compliments the message of the song so well. amazing stuff, definitely one to keep your eye on for the future!!
