our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from the amazing Bonfire TideEvery Terrible Thing“!

they’ve been making waves this year, having just performed at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton last weekend, releasing their first single of 2023 “The Old Boys” and they’ve got a gig on this coming Friday supporting the amazing James Holt at Sacred Trinity Church! ☀️

this new single sounds incredible, opening up with a gorgeous tapestry of sound that we’ve come to expect with their music – David’s main vocal sounds absolutely gorgeous over the track, his ability to control the softer aspects and then belt it out when necessary marks him as an exceptional vocalist. the soundscape behind him through the instrumentation is incredible, you can really hear the craft and effort put in by the band to really create something special. 😊

this is one of our favourite ones by them yet, and we can’t wait to hear more – you can find the music video in full over on YouTube at https://youtu.be/jy4DB7mm5cE or it’s on all the streaming platforms to listen! well worth checking out 🤘

right from the get-go, the track invites you in with a calm and steady piano melody, creating a sense of ease for Aurora’s vocal to sit perfectly above. her vocal capabilities are on full show here, sounding incredible – and as the track opens up into the chorus, the drums give it a real feel of urgency, complimenting the lyrical content here super well. in the latter part of the track, there’s a real gorgeous show of all the instrumentation working in tandem with one another to reflect the ferocity of the song, with a huge final chorus and a beautiful conclusion at the end. 🤘

we caught these guys live last year or so and were amazed by their energetic stage presence and slick lyrical ability, and their debut single “Malibu” sounds fantastic – this new tune only expands on their talent! 😊

led by a lovely melodic guitar pattern, paired with a country-esque lead riff – it sets a gorgeous backdrop for the calm and composed main vocal to sit above. the relaxed atmosphere is a lovely breath of fresh air in a music scene that often relies on heavier elements to keep the energy going, and the lyricism on this is lovely, a real outburst of feeling and emotion. as the track progresses, the drums give it a new element of energy without taking away from the relaxed atmosphere of the track, and it sounds fantastic. well worth a listen! 🤘

we’ve been massive fans of Hayden’s music for a while now, his album last year was absolutely sensational and this continues yet another strong output of singles – his unique style and drive to create something that truly stands out is inspirational. 🤘

this new tune starts off calm and collected, exposing his feelings through his lyricism but then opens up massively into the chorus, with a gorgeous sub-bass under the track, holding together the staggered rhythm section and synth lines that give a real sense of energy under his vocal, which sounds super clear and shows off his ability super well. the production is on point for this one too, keeping the track interesting and fresh all the way through – we’re huge fans of this one. 👊

we had these guys perform for us back in January for our On The Rise at Lions Den Manchester and we were amazed by their formidable stage presence, their energetic tunes and down-to-earth energy! 😎 played a proper blinder for us as well.

this new tune only exemplifies all of that, with a massive guitar riff kicking off the track, showing what they’re about right from the get-go. you can really feel the chemistry that the band has here, with the drums and bass locked in real tight to create a steady groove for the track to flow over, and the catchy, memorable lyrics portray the message of the tune superbly. as the track progresses, it builds and builds with such ease and creates a gorgeous space for that guitar solo to shine in. a fantastic tune!

Just The Crust 13/03/23: Bonfire Tide – The Old Boys ⚡️

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Bonfire TideThe Old Boys“!

we were astounded by their first few releases back in 2021, really encapsulating a unique sound consisting of modern indie rock music, with a real touch of nostalgia for 2000’s contemporary folk music – yet defining themselves as ones to watch with intricate melodies and honed musicianship. ☀️

they’ve gone above and beyond with this new release, not only remaining true to their original sound but expanding upon it, with a gorgeous backdrop to the track, laced with delicate piano runs, cello flowing throughout the soundscape, all which only compliment David’s vocal – you can tell that there’s been time and effort put into every single melody on the track to ensure that it all comes together to create something special. 💥 the explosivity of the latter section of the track creates a gorgeous contrast within it, driving the hook home and establishing a real sense of ferocity in their music.
