The Wrap: December 2022 ✨

We’ve got our latest feature for The Wrap covering tunes from last month, December 2022! ☀️ again, another month proper chock-full of incredible releases, it’s brilliant to see!! Finishing up the year on a high here! Find all of our in-depth reviews below ⬇️

One of our favourites over the past year or so, YNES has released a brand new EP “Born Loser“! It’s a gorgeous collection of tunes, really honing on the qualities that are present in YNES’ tunes – tongue-in-cheek humour, honest, almost conversational lyricism and oozing with britpop/indie goodness. At times it’s a brutal depiction of modern society, highlighting the contradictions of societal expectations and calling out out-dated tradition and behaviours – yet, all in front of a huge sound with catchy hooks and punky angst. Well worth a listen, easily one of our favourite artists of the year – with a no-nonsense attitude and a constant drive for creativity, it’s a brilliant release and we can’t wait to hear more! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Manchester-based singer-songwriter Jimmy Page made his first mark on the scene over the course of last year, performing across the city and establishing a name for himself – the release of this second single “Days are Long” has really set him as one to watch on the scene. With a gorgeous guitar riff opening up the track, the laidback rhythm allow his vocal to excel over the beat – with an almost-relaxed approach it feels like he’s telling his story so effortlessly in this track. Speaking of, his lyricism is lovely here, in his words “about the little ones in your life” – a lovely sentiment and executed fantastically. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP)

Lancashire-based Jacob Reddy is a familiar face on our features now, having put out a string of incredible tunes and really showing him as one to watch in the North West. This new tune “Till The End” sees him taking a more stripped-back take to a personal level, with some gorgeous lyricism here – really utilising the imagery to create a lovely story throughout the track. Jacob’s vocal sounds fantastic over the acoustic guitar, and with the addition of piano melodies, vocal harmonies and use of open space in the track it’s a real lush listen. A must-listen for any fans of more relaxed singer-songwriter tunes, perfect for any relaxing playlists! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Sheffield’s own Work In TV have just put out their second single, “Dance Like We Used To“! Right from the get-go, we know we’re gonna love it – kicking off right into the action with the verse coming in, the vocals perfectly balanced to create a feeling of surrounding.. for it to calm a touch with a lovely guitar melody and the track building effortlessly into a huge chorus with so much energy! It only continues with this trend throughout the track, balancing the dynamics so well to keep the track fresh whilst it develops. It almost drops fully away into the bridge, creating a real sense of tension that even falls away even more.. only to build back up beautifully into the final section. The production is sensational and just such a well-crafted track! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

A good friend of ours here at the label, Benjamin Finney has just put out his brand new single “Sappho” with jamie henry! Ben’s guitarwork is on full display here, perfectly complimented by the soundscape behind the track – the relaxed and steady rhythm gives such a gorgeous base for his melodies to shine, whilst keeping a real mellow and gorgeous atmosphere. The flow of the track is super smooth, with each element of it working perfectly in tandem to keep the track moving – and the electric guitar tone is beautiful, giving a new essence to the song. Well worth a listen! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

We’ve had Jane Lacey perform for us a bunch now here at Bread Records, and her live sets are both intimate yet powerful – and this track only solidifies that into stone. “Not a girl song” is a true alt-rock anthem, opening up with a short acoustic riff that then explodes into a full punk-rock wall of sound. Jane’s vocal comes in and commands the attention of the listener, her lyricism is direct and blunt, perfectly encapsulating the topic of the track – and with a huge chorus, it’s a brilliant tune that really shows off her abilities. The no-nonsense feel of the tune only makes it hit harder, and it’s a call to arms for anyone who’s been a victim of harassment or abuse. The power of this track only makes us want to hear more from her! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Albeit a November release, this came out at the end of the month and we knew we’d have to cover this as soon as it was released. We’re huge fans of FEAR OF MARKO – with such a unique sound, incorporating elements of grunge, indie and hyperpop; his unapologetic sound is ferocious and leaves a lasting impact on the listener. This EP is a fantastic show of his skills, with hard-hitting beats, fantastic lyricism and brilliant vocal capabilities throughout, it’s a must-listen for any pop enthusiasts out there. The new tracks on the EP are incredible too, from the grungy metal atmosphere of “Skeleton” to the indie-rock feel of “Funeral” – it’s well worth a listen and sure to be a hit at any party! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Another familiar face on our features, Glasgow’s Velvet have returned with a brand new release “Blue Roses“! This tune sees them take a more mellow atmosphere to their music, really using the soundscape of the track to create an ambience that perfectly balances to the vocals on the track, a much more mellow vibe than their previous releases. The musicianship on the track is gorgeous, the connection that the band has is on full display here and it’s a gorgeous listen. The song flows so well, feeling like controlled chaos that they’ve managed to manipulate superbly – and the breakdown in the mid-section of the track takes us back to their previous releases, full of energetic riffs, powerful guitar solos and a hard-hitting rhythm that really pushes the track along. Well worth checking out! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

The Wrap: November 2022 ✨

Here’s our latest edition of The Wrap for November 😎 there’s been so many fantastic releases and here are just a few of our favourites – yet another amazing month for music lately! Find all of our in-depth reviews below! ⬇️

Manchester-based alternative rock outfit Bards have returned with their brand new single “Omega“! We had these guys perform for us back in July at The Grafton Arms and they sounded massive, such a fantastic live presence and some incredible songs under their belt. This new tune only accentuates their talent, with huge walls of sound behind them, hard-hitting rhythm and gorgeous parallels of vocals lacing the soundscape to create a truly formidable tune. As the song progresses through, the bridge is the highlight of the track for us, calming down and easing off with dreamy atmosphere and building so well to a huge open space where everyone is so in sync. Amazing stuff! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

We’ve covered these guys before and we were stoked to be able to hear that they’ve got a new single out! Low Orbit return with their brand new single “Your Paradise“, starting off with a melodic and laid-back groove to the track, slowly building throughout until it opens up to the absolutely huge chorus, adorned with walls of distortion, massive vocals and a huge rhythm behind it all, which all work perfectly in tandem with one another. We’re huge fans of the bridge in this too, with a lovely guitar solo that glides so well across the soundscape and ends with a real chaotic disorder that drops straight back in to the track. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP)

A familiar face on the Manchester scene, singer-songwriter Louis Cross has brought out his debut EP “A Page To Tell“! We’ve heard a bunch of these songs at gigs across Manchester and it’s lovely to hear the studio versions of them. The entire EP is full of gorgeous harmonies, lovely violin and string parts that only complement Louis’ songwriting style and performance. We’re big fans of the country-esque “We’re All The Same“, bringing a brand new feel to the track which simultaneously feels familiar and like it’s been there throughout. The full EP is well worth a listen for Louis’ songwriting ability and apt for being able to put across emotion and feeling so easily into music! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Francis Alban Blake‘s new tune “Strawberry Jam” is laden with gorgeous imagery, delicate instrumentation and an inviting vocal that really creates something that is special to listen to. As the track delves through, the careful atmosphere is only extended and really shows the effort and talent that has been poured into this track. It’s an honest and gorgeous depiction of an artists’ mindset, the problems that a creative may face yet at the same time excelling and proving that Francis is one to watch and surely not a fading hue. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

One of our favourites on the North West scene, Hayden J Barlow has brought out his debut album “CAUSTIC“! Full of absolute tunes, we’ve covered a bunch of these singles in the past and we can’t give him enough praise already. His unique style and ability to not be put in a box of genre blows us away. He’s able to take influence from all over the shop, the vocal melodies throughout and the synths, guitarwork and production are incredible. Hayden’s lyrical ability is absolutely on display here, he’s able to come up with some amazing hooks that are made even better with his vocal melodies – you can really get an insight into the emotion poured into each one of his tracks. Well worth a listen, there’s something for everyone in this album. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

Manchester’s indie-folk artist Scatterchild has brought out his brand new EP “The Whispers We Leave“! Adorned with gorgeous soundscapes, passionate vocals and intrinsic lyrics, it’s a fantastic listen. We’ve covered their previous singles “Tough Love” and “Staring Me Down“, which both in their own right sound incredible, yet the newer tracks are a beautiful addition to this EP. “Soft Spots” is full of beautiful melody lines, intimate lyricism and a gorgeous guitar riff to lead the track. The huge shape of the bridge gives so much to it, falling back into the chorus so well and marking it as a highlight of the release. The opener “Alchemist” is a lovely introduction to Scatterchild’s style, whilst “Mayfly” is a lovely and honest depiction of emotion and feeling, a theme that we’ve come to expect from the lyricism of Scatterchild. It’s a gorgeous release from start to finish – well worth a listen! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Manchester-based art-pop Flowers of Evil have teamed up with Nikki & the Waves for their latest release “Cherry-AID“! With a really gorgeous groove behind the track, it starts off superbly and from the get-go, you’re absorbed into the track with the blatant, laid-bare lyrics laden over the top of gorgeous synth chords, and the driving bassline guiding the track along so well. Oscar and Nikki’s vocals compliment one another perfectly, at times the track feels almost like a conversation that ebbs and flows so effortlessly. Halfway through the track, it completely shifts into a breakdown, where the talents of the bands are fully brought into the forefront of the track. The vocal harmonisation here is beautiful, a fantastic work of music here! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

One of our favourites on the Manchester scene, Katie O’Malley has returned with her brand new single “Wasted“! Keeping with her signature american-rock sound, she’s gone for a more bluesy atmosphere on this track – opening with a gorgeous guitar riff to match her lovely vocal, it’s got your attention right from the start. As the bass drops in, it adds such a groove to track, perfectly matched by the drumbeat to really show off Katie and her band’s abilities. Her vocal capabilities are on point here as well, really able to capture the focus of the listener! The breakdown of the track is gorgeous as well, showing off such proficiency with a huge guitar solo that cements the track together so well and really sets this as one of our favourites of Katie’s tracks. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

The Wrap: October 2022 ✨

we’re back with our next The Wrap feature for you all, covering some of our favourite releases of October! It’s been an incredible year of music so far and we’ve written about so many incredible tunes – this one’s no different, check it all out below! ⬇️

One of our favourites on the Manchester scene, FEAR OF MARKO has just released his third single “Blood For Tears“! With an ever-changing, fresh and experimental sound, every release has been super exciting. We’re huge fans of the hyper-pop/industrial sound that is present throughout each release, and Marcus’ vocal sounds fantastic as always. Starting off real calm, the progression throughout the song becomes more and more intense as it starts to build, with the vocal flow becoming even more technical to add to the complexity of the instrumentation. Another fantastic hook on this, a real singalong tune – and that outro goes absolutely hard. Great to see, well worth checking out! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP / YOUTUBE)

Another one that we’ve been keeping our eyes on over the course of the year, Novustory have put out their new single “Give Me Fire“! They’ve made absolute waves over the past couple of months, gaining traction throughout the whole of the UK, playing sold out shows and it’s truly down to their work ethic, the amount of effort they put in constantly and their combined talents. We love this new tune – the calmness of the intro is a perfect parallel to the explosivity of the chorus. These guys sure know how to write a hook, shown so well with this track. They utilise the dynamic of the song so well here, with builds, tension and lovely use of atmosphere to really show off how fantastic this tune is. Ones to watch! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP / YOUTUBE)

Another band we’ve had on the radar for a while – we were huge fans of their previous releases and this new tune from Velvet, “Self Help” is a proper indication that these guys are gonna go far. They’ve got a fantastic unique sound, which only expands out with every single release – utilising tones, guitar riffs, huge drums, massive basslines to really create something they can call their own. This new tune goes right in from the get-go, with such a fantastic groove to it, showing how much chemistry the band has with each other – we’d love to see how this one goes down in a lil basement club, it’d be mental! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

VENUS GRRRLS have been absolutely smashing it all across the UK lately, with constant radio plays, reviews and the such – when you hear this new tune “Aries” you’ll understand exactly why. We were massive fans of their last single “Violet State of Mind” and they’ve followed up with another proper banger. The chorus in this song is undeniably one of the best we’ve heard all year – catchy, easy to understand, a perfect explosivity of energy contrasting to the former verse. The guitar riffs throughout, driving bassline, and steady drums backing the track give so much energy to the track – all balancing the main vocal so well and just showing off the talent superbly. This is definitely one for our end of year list, we think! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP / YOUTUBE)

One of the best bands we’ve seen live this yeaar, Sugarstone have put out their debut EP “SUCKER“! The balance of genres here, ranging from metal to indie to electronica.. they’ve got something super special here behind them. We were huge fans of the second track “That’s Intense” which came out a few months ago, but the rest of the tracks compliment it so well – the opener “Author Is Now Dead” is a huge track incorporating so many elements throughout from synth lines, metal breakdowns, to the lyricism – a bleak yet intensive piece of social commentary. It’s chock-full of energetic, thought-provoking tunes that have harmonies throughout and sound just bloody incredible. Whack this on at a party and you’ll get everyone going mental! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

One of our favourite songwriters and general people on the Manchester scene, we absolutely LOVED Mathew Kerry’s 2019 release “Okie Dokie?”. He’s come back with another one, “If You’re Not Going Home With Me, That’s Okay“, which only expands on the quality of his last one. Full to the brim with beautiful melodies, Mat’s gorgeous vocal over the top of it all, it sounds absolutely lovely. Throughout, his songwriting shines through – his lyricism is second to none, one of the most talented chaps we know. The instrumentation throughout really commpliments him too – big shout to Sloe Flower Studios, always fantastic work from them. A must listen to any singer-songwriter fans! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP / YOUTUBE)

Another familiar face for us on the scene, Dr Fabola has just put out his brand new single “All Behind“! His first release this year, he’s kept true to his beautiful fingerpicking style, soft vocals, and lovely image-inducing lyrics. We love his style, it’s such a raw outburst of passion – the atmosphere of this track compliments him so well. The backing vocals in the chorus are a lovely balance to his main vocal – it’s such a well produced song, perfect for Dr Fabola’s sound. We can’t wait to hear more from him, the calm feel of this song is so lush and yet another fantastic release from him. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / BANDCAMP / YOUTUBE)

We’ve covered Leeds’ Cliche Cult so many times in the past now, every release from them has been super sublime – this new tune “Slippy” only proves that they can improve on an already incredible discography. Straight from the get-go, the track is huge. The guitar riff that comes in is so dirty, laying the foundation for the track so well, and throughout the verses there’s an exceptional chemistry between the band that is parallel to none. We love this tune, the vocals are on point, the lyricism is tongue in cheek and compliments itself by the use of rhythm between verses, and that chorus is bloomin massive. They never disappoint us, this is 100% well worth a listen! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

it’s been an incredible month for music, with so many fantastic releases – these here are just a select few from the scene, there’s been so many more that have come out but we can’t cover them all or we’d be here all day writing essays ahaha. big shout to all the artists here, well worth checking out! ⚡️

Make sure you head on down to open mics, gigs, support local music and arts and keep your scenes going! 😊 all music, videos and images remain copyright of their respective owners. 🍞

Liverpool-based Dune Boy has just put out his debut album “We Can Go There If You Want?” – a beautiful collection of indie-folk songs that are delicately put together yet are so expertly crafted, with a real intimate between him and the listener. With gorgeous guitar licks throughout, stern rhythm sections that hold it all together and his soft vocal that glides effortlessly over each track, it’s a gorgeous debut from the songwriter. Reminiscent of artists like Nick Drake, The Mountain Goats and Phoebe Bridgers, this is definitely one to put on during those rainy Northern days. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Manchester’s Daniel Darley has just released his debut single “Faking“! We had him perform for us earlier in the year and he astounded us with his stellar songwriting, lovely chord progressions and chemistry with his lead guitarist on accompaniment. This track only proves his talent – his vocal sounds sublime as it comes into the verse, and his storytelling throughout the track is superb. You can really feel the emotion that he’s pouring into this track, and the production with the violinwork and instrumentation in the background compliments him so well. We can’t wait to hear more! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

Indie-pop sensation Scott Magnus has returned with his brand new single “Wanting You Back“! We’re huge fans of his previous releases, his album “COMEBACK STRONGER” was absolutely brilliant and this new tune only cements his talent. With an upbeat yet eerie beat, centred around a lovely guitar riff, his vocal commands the attention of the listener with his powerful and dynamic range – really getting you to hear the story that he’s telling, a ballad of romance, loss and regret. It’s a real honest depiction, lyrically – something we love to see, an outburst of pure emotion and having the strength to be able to put it into words. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Manchester’s very own The Distance have brought out their single “Falling“! We’ve caught these performing a bunch of times now, both at gigs across Manchester and we’ve also had them play for us loads now. This tune sounds fantastic, a real indie-rock anthem that defines their sound so well – feeling like 90’s nostalgia yet also with a modern twist that they can call their own. Jack and Sam’s vocals compliment each other so well on this track, a real great balance between the two of them and it really shows off the chemistry within the band. The breakdown sounds superb too, a lovely contrast to the the upbeat feel of the rest of the track and exploding into the final chorus fantastically. Well worth a listen, we can’t wait to hear their other tunes once they’re out! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

Manchester’s indie punks pyncher have just put out their latest single “The Saddest Man Around“! we were huge fans of their last release and this one is mega. laden with gorgeous ambience surrounding the track, they utilise a lovely and mellow guitar riff to really encapsulate their grungey feel – the build throughout the track is real lush, incorporating so much energy to the song and using the dynamic of the instruments to their full potential. makes us feel like we should be in a basement, hearing them blast out these tunes at full volume! well worth a listen. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

London’s Tiffany Twisted have teamed up with SUMMER ALONE for their latest single “333” – an infectious, punky and grungey anthem that sounds absolutely huge. the guitar riffs throughout are dreamy and atmospheric yet so eerie, and the drum work throughout is absolutely spectacular. it’s got such a huge groove to the track, the build-up to the chorus is gorgeous, and it explodes in a wave of lead guitar riffs and feedback that just sings in itself. the bridge sounds proper beautiful too, a chaotic contrast to the rest of the track but really adds so much of a haunting atmosphere to it all. well worth a listen, there’s absolutely so much throughout this tune! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Newcastle-based indie outfit Firesites put out their new single “Home Again” with Ada Grace Francis! A gorgeous, melodic ballad that opens up with such a soft, relaxed atmosphere, suddenly shifts gear into a jazzy, feel good vibe to it. The vocals throughout are so warm, complimenting one another so well – the track flows so well, you can imagine just drifting along on a cloud with the warmth emanating from this. The lyricism is spot on too, so lovely and raw – plus, we absolutely love the guitar solo, beautiful stuff. They should be reyt proud of this track, absolutely beautiful stuff! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Hollows here in Manchester have just dropped this huge single “Ghosts“! we loved their previous releases, fantastic alternative rock tunes that have made a proper impact in the city. this new tune only continues with that, with driving basslines, tight drums that gel it all so well together and gorgeous lead melodies that match Sean’s lead vocal so well – his passion is put superbly into this track, absolutely belting it out at times and sounding so wonderful. the guitar solo is blooming gorgeous too, this one’s definitely a testament to the talent of the band. go have a listen! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

The Wrap: August 2022 ✨

we’ve got our August edition of The Wrap for you guys ✨ over the past month, we’ve seen a huge amount of incredible tunes being released, such a fantastic variety up North as well – so many bands and acts smashing it with their new music. we’ve collected a few here and reviewed them for you, check it all out below! ⬇️

Manchester-based indie-pop outfit Casinos have just released their debut single “No Longer Eighteen“! Right from the get-go, the track explodes into action with a huge sound, synth leads and huge rhythm – as it delves into the verse, it drops to make way for lead singer Matt’s vocal to fit perfectly above the instrumentation. With a hugely catchy chorus of the trials and tribulations of youth, we’ve had this on repeat all month! Astounding production on this as well from Red City Recordings, the tune sounds absolutely massive and compliments the sound of the band so well. We can hear this one being blasted out in 42s and other indie venues in Manchester – fantastic songwriting from the lads here, they’ve got an absolute banger for their first release and we can’t wait to hear even more! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

Liverpool’s own self-proclaimed “pop-punk princess” Kerry Feeney has just released her brand new single “Narcissist“! We loved her previous releases, having such a huge sound and unique style behind her music, constantly putting out songs with such an attitude and force driving them. This new tune only continues her tradition, full of passion and power – immediately opening the track with a huge drum fill that drops right into a huge wall of distortion, and as soon as Kerry’s vocal comes in she commands the direction of the track so well – delivering the emotion conveyed in the lyrics perfectly. The chorus is huge, her voice is incredible here and such a catchy chorus. The bridge is a perfect parallel to the rest of the song, giving the track so much room to breathe only to open back up into a huge middle eight that precedes the final chorus that we can only imagine would absolutely go OFF live. Yet another brilliant release under her belt! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Leeds’ own Happy Families have just released their debut EP “Nowhere At All“! Throughout the entire release, gorgeous melodies and harmonies create a lovely soundscape for the EP – the main vocal sits so well above it all and sounds so beautiful as well. The acoustic guitar melodies almost tell a story within themselves, with delicate finger-picking defining the atmosphere, which perfectly balances to the vocal harmonies throughout the tracks. The use of percussion is perfect as well, being used dynamically to bring the lyrics to life, and in addition to this, the strings and other instrumentation used are the perfect icing on top of the songs. Well worth a listen – our favourite is the opener “Nowhere At All“, but it’s a fantastic debut release throughout. (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC)

Glasgow’s Pizza Crunch is back with yet another single, a vast alt-rock banger “Romanticised Past” which sounds epic. The track starts off incredibly, feeling like they’re in an airspace hanger with such a great use of reverb and space, only to open up and flow comfortably into the first verse of the track. We’re massive fans of Pizza Crunch’s guitar riffs and this one is easily one of our favourites, soaring seamlessly above the track with a beautiful warm tone to it. The vocals sound fantastic, utilising a contrast in the verse to really balance out the feel – and you can easily tell the balance are so tight, so in touch with one another when they play; it’s conveyed so well on this tune. The use of delays and space throughout the song is on point, it adds so much to it all and is a great addition to the soundscape. Well worth listening to, plus their entire discography is incredible as well! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Manchester-based electro-punks Sugarstone set the bar with their previous single “That’s Intense“! We caught them live back in June and they blew us away with their high-energy, explosive stage presence and massive tunes so we were super looking forward to this tune. And man, it does not disappoint! Blending electronic synths and drums with punky, distorted guitar riffs and huge basslines, it creates a gorgeous atmosphere that balances the blend of genres so well – an absolutely massive tune that would inflict serious damage when played at full volume. Catchy hooks and chaotic breakdowns define these chaps – if you’re looking for a fantastic live band, get down to one of their gigs! Incidentally, their brand new single “Happiness is Hard To Find” has also dropped today so even more for you to feast upon! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Singer-songwriter Rosalind Joy, based on the outskirts of Manchester, has just dropped her EP “summer“! She’s performed for us a few times now and she’s captured the essence of her tracks so well in this release – opening up with “weeird“, a synthy dream-pop track with such a lovely groove behind it, gorgeous melody lines and fantastic vocals from herself, it’s a fantastic summery track with such personal and honest lyricism, the vocal harmonies throughout sound incredible and a great way to open up this EP. “Make Me Fall” gives way to a dancey track which sounds fantastic, maintaining her singer-songwriter roots whilst the production provides a lovely electronic element behind it, to create something that’s really her own sound. This is continued in the last track, culminating in a release that not only sounds lovely, but gives a breath of fresh air with such a unique style that Rosalind can really claim as her own! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)

Manchester’s own gutter punks The Battery Farm have returned with their latest single “A Working Class Lad“! We’re huge fans of these guys, their previous releases are brilliant with such a huge sound – and if you’ve had the luxury of catching them live, they translate it so well upon the stage. The songwriting on this track is superb, giving a real socio-political commentary yet utilising simplicity throughout it all. We love to see it! Not only that, the guitar riffs, the massive walls of distortion, the rhythm sections’ explosivity, the ferocity of the vocals… it’s a huge track from the lads, absolutely fantastic with so much power and energy unleashed from the tune. Class stuff! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE / BANDCAMP)

Indie-rockers The Ruby Tuesdays have put out their latest single “She’s Got You“! Immediately erupting into the start of the track with huge drums, driving basslines and a huge guitar lead – it sounds fantastic already within the first few bars. As the guitars make way for the first verse, the vocal glides so effortlessly over the tune, as it goes into the pre-chorus it builds and builds only to explode right into the chorus, a super catchy and huge hook that we can imagine would be belted right back at the band in a live venue. The main riff is gorgeous as well, leading the track and directing its manner, whilst each and every other instrument only compliments it and show off the capacity and talents of the band. Well worth a listen, brilliant stuff! (SPOTIFY / APPLE MUSIC / YOUTUBE)
