the creative duo SKEG have just put out their debut single “Hammer to fall“! a collaboration between Hayden J Barlow and George Elsbury, they blend a variety of influences, most notably soul and rnb with gritty electronic production, to create something truly brand new and refreshing to listen to. with incredible vocal talent all across the song, real rhythm and groove behind the track and expert production, this first single is a real show of force to what they have to offer.

North-West based self-proclaimed “DIY indie punk” artist Tom Elliot has just released “Love Is A Dog From Hell“! it’s a lovely tune, with real 2000’s emo throwback vibes to it, heartfelt and introspective lyricism and singalong choruses – it’s a great listen and a fantastic followup to his previous EP. there’s a real sense of sensitivity in this track, especially lyrically, proving his ability to convey emotion and feeling effortlessly in his songwriting.

Newcastle-based songwriter Tim Gambles has just put out his single “Story Told Wrong“! it’s an incredible tune, that has a real balance of dynamic in it, going from personal and intimate to the huge and driving power of the choruses – blending indie-pop with more ferocious heavier elements, all whilst maintaining a unique sound that he’s expertly crafted. the Tasmanian-born creative has created a real catchy tune, in which you can really hear the passion that he’s put into it!

Yorkshire-based ALPINE ‘99 have released their debut single “Nothing Really Matters“! with dream-pop, atmospheric sounds right from the get-go, there’s a luscious soundscape around the track, with ethereal synth sounds, gorgeous guitar melodies and driving rhythm that only compliments his vocal, drenched in reverb yet still maintaining the attention of the listener. it’s a brilliant first release and we can’t wait to hear even more!

Liverpool’s Zara Smile has just put out their new single “Rewind“! they’ve been making waves across the North West with their previous releases, and this one is definitely one to listen to – their honest, down-to-earth and relatable lyricism, and ability to create a luscious soundscape through their music really defines them as one to keep an eye on for the future – this track sounds gorgeous, with incredible instrumentation behind it, Zara’s vocal soaring effortlessly above it, and it’s got such a lovely flow throughout the song. one to keep on repeat!

Manchester alternative-rock outfit The Bad Wires have just released their second single “Leading Man“! after the success of their debut, they’re back with another track. it’s got a real attitude behind it, with a lovely bluesy riff forming the base of the tune, and driving and powerful rhythm, there’s a real groove behind it and they’ve created a proper no-nonsense rock anthem. it’s a fantastic listen and definitely puts them as ones to watch for the future!

we’re huge fans of Ladybarn, having covered their previous releases a bunch, and they’re back with their new single “Smother“! opening up with a lovely, atmospheric element, they’ve got their signature sound to a tee – their ability to create a real groove, a spell-binding soundscape, and you can hear the chemistry between the musicians so well within this tune. they’re able to utilise dynamics incredibly, bringing the track from the calm to the storm – another fantastic single under their belts!

we met Taylor Sterling earlier this year, and his unwavering approach to creating truly personal, real music for himself was inspiring – something that is evident throughout his new album “deca.dance“! taking influence from a variety of genres, he’s really brought them together to create an infectious and grooving album – with singalong choruses, driving rhythms and erratic, interesting and drone-y synths, it’s a truly great listen and a real show of his musical journey. well worth checking out!
