we’ve just gone and popped all of the tunes on our Just The Crust features from 2022 into a lil playlist for you all
way too many artists to mention but there’s an incredible roster of talent on display here, well worth a lil listen – you can find it over at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4eMHj9nENZG0BpKY3pZvaJ and big love to all these acts for letting us share their work!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Stan Buckroyd “BABY STEPS“!
the follow-up to his previous single “GREY”, this is the title track of his upcoming EP – and it sounds proper huge. you can really hear the indie influence with elements of punk and even surf-rock with the lead guitar tone. it’s a lovely tune!
starting out in full force with a driving drumbeat, powerful guitar chords and a gorgeous guitar line, it’s a real great introduction to Stan’s music. his vocal takes command over the track as soon as it comes in, prompting the attention directly to his lyricism – and the chorus is great, a lovely hook that we’re sure will be sang right back at him at gigs and that. the breakdown is class too, really pushing the track to a more energetic feel that delves real well back into the latter part of the track.
from what this song has to offer, we can’t wait to hear more – in the meantime you can find it on Spotify at https://open.spotify.com/album/0j2kniqVxaBqiN5vodPclq and all the streaming platforms! well worth a listen!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Manchester indie-rock outfit VALA “Don’t Think Twice (It’s Not Alright)!
we’ve been huge fans of these guys, with a fantastic back catalogue already behind them, they’ve made waves over the past few years in the North West, and they just played a headline gig over at The Deaf Institute
this new tune here only continues with their quality signature sound, woven sonic atmospheres drowned in ambience and laced with image-inducing songwriting and down to earth lyricism. it’s a gorgeous track, and as it opens up in the chorus it’s not only a great parallel to the calmness of the first verse, but brings you into a lovely catchy hook – one that we can imagine would be amazing live. we’re huge fans of the bridge too, what a buildup to the pre-chorus at the end.. some fantastic production on this tune as well.
you can find it on all streaming sites, or you can check out the full video on YouTube at https://youtu.be/tdtIc1wR9pQ – well worth a watch!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Shadows Of A Silhouette “Modern Age Blues“!
we had these guys perform for us back in October at the Grafton Arms and they absolutely smashed it, a massive set with the crowd in the palm of their hands and proper showed us that they’re easily ones to watch.
this new tune only adds to their fantastic repertoire of tunes, starting out with a gorgeous guitar melody and a huge singalong hook that would go down massively well at live gigs – the lyricism is on point, inducing imagery so well throughout their songwriting ability. as the track flows through the song, it’s such an inviting listen, mellow but so much going on throughout it and with such a lovely groove behind it as well.
it’s well worth a listen, such a fantastic tune – you can find it over on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvdnHeveB7w for the full video, and it’s on all streaming sites as well!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Lynskey – “kinda tastes like iron”
following the release of their debut EP last year, “Sales and Lettings“, they’ve returned with this new single, expanding out on their sound with bigger riffs, a huge energy behind their music and synthesisers to really create a push and groove behind them to create their unique “dance-punk” energy!
opening up the track with a near-metal expression, with riffs and power chords enveloping the atmosphere of the track, it flows through the first verse superbly, and with the pre-chorus giving a touch of fresh air – it then opens up into an energetic, chaotic chorus which gives a beautiful parallel direction to the rest of the track. this theme is echoed throughout the entire song, flowing in so many different directions yet still being expertly steered by the band, who are in control all the way through. the use of synths really compliment their sound, and the dynamic of the vocal sounds fantastic in addition to it all!
you can find the single over on all streaming sites, or find the full video over on YouTube at https://youtu.be/V381IpT_qT0 – well worth checking out!

our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new debut single from George White “Up The England“!
we’ve had George perform for us a few times now and he always amazes us with his prolific songwriting, with catchy tunes and intrinsic lyrical ability, and his performances always go down a storm – a joy to watch live and a lovely chap!
this is the first single from him, a brilliant introduction for listeners to his music – a modern-day anthem for this year’s footballing antics. with a singalong hook, a massive upbeat atmosphere surrounding the track and the strings complimenting the vocals super well, it’s a real lovely track full to the brim with a positive outlook and a touch to the nostalgia of the past world cup. well worth a listen over the sporting period!
you can find the full video over at https://youtu.be/BPjfvwFX-Ls – it’s available on all streaming platforms as well, and we can’t wait to hear more music from him.
we’ve covered Craig’s music in the past and we’re huge fans of his tunes – upbeat, catchy and nostalgic for old school rock and roll feels, he’s got a real unique sound that you can tell he’s put time and effort into crafting.
this new single “Built On Bones” only furthers his talent, with a real feel-good vibe from the get-go, opening up real mellow and calm as it opens up to a lovely chorus that feels super full with steady drums, driving bass and a real catchy hook that’ll have audiences singing along in no time. the track flows along so well, with a proper groove behind it, Craig’s vocal gliding over the instrumentation super well. it’s amassed nearly 7k streams so far, incredible to see and very well deserved!
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from Jacob Reddy Music “Who You Are“!
another incredible release from the young lad, we’ve covered his music plenty of times now and he always excels with each tune he puts out – a real up-and-coming talent here in the North West.
this new single continues in his usual trend of heavy guitars, anthemic choruses and feel-good lyricism that inspires and uplifts. we’re huge fans of this new tune, it’s a lovely tune celebrating individuality and it sounds huge! the lyricism is on point as always, with gorgeous guitar melodies and riffs throughout, the choruses open up to a massive soundscape, and the breakdown before the final chorus is a lush contrast to the rest of the tune.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new tune from DRIAN “Dreaming“!
their second single so far, they’ve been establishing themselves around Manchester performing and wowing audiences especially with their headline gig over at the Eagle Inn the other week! we were a big fan of their debut single and this new one only further emphasises their talent
with a huge groove to the track, with crunchy distortion lining the rhythm of the drums and the bass, it’s got a lovely soundscape to the track – plus, Jordan’s vocal ability is in full scope here as he belts out, especially in the chorus, an anthemic hook that would be sung back at them at any gig. a gorgeous guitar solo too, culminating in a fantastic breakdown that gives a proper depth to the track.
our feature for today’s Just The Crust is the brand new single from KingFast “Feel The Love“, out this Friday the 28th of October!
residing over in Liverpool, the soulful songwriter has been performing and making his mark across the city, with a slurry of fantastic singles under his belt and this new tune only goes to solidify his talent and capacity as an emerging artist in the North West.
the song starts out with a lovely, calm and controlled guitar riff that sets the basis for the entire song: a mellow, heartfelt ballad to a loved one. Kingfast’s vocal talent is on display here, showing his prowess and abilities in full. as it goes into the chorus, the groove of the talent shifts into top gear, balancing his vocal melodies above a lovely pop-infused beat that really makes the track feel like an upbeat, summery tune. the harmonies in the bridge are gorgeous too, a real lovely breakdown that contrasts the rest of the track so well and compliments it entirely.
the full track will be released on all streaming platforms come Friday, but in the meantime you can find it over on YouTube alongside a music video at https://youtu.be/Z821vvKW2es
